sexiest gun dealers...
First of all, I'm a man who thinks that a woman with a gun is damn near the sexiest thing I've ever seen
Where can I get a Brittany Spears Fembot??? GRRRRRrrrrrr!
OOOOHHHHH! "sexist" Rrriiiiiight....
I once worked as a trapper for a hotel/skeet course/ game preserve.
The Hermitage, near Mt.Snow, Vt.
Among my duties of taking care of several shotguns, the entire sporting clays course, and launching clays, came the firearms instruction for 10 wedding party guests one fine day... Several of them women.
As I've stated before, ANYONE interested in guns is someone worth spending time chatting to... I always enjoy a good gun inspired conversation sprinkled with witty humor.
Anyway, Myself and my co-worker split the entire party of 20 into 2 groups of 10 and I took those who had either never fired a gun, or who had very little experience... This one woman who had never fired a gun, and whose sole prior experiences with them were through plastic evidence bags, as she was a prosecutor somewhere in NYC. broke 28 out of 100 clays with an over-under 20 guage on a course that is a 77 avg. and has been used by the Budweiser/Duck's unlimited, and by Ken- The guy that writes/used to write articles on clays and bird hunting for Field and stream I forget his last name, it was some 10 years and 6 kids ago...
She would get so excited whenever she broke one that she'd cry!
When she missed, I'd see her get more aggresive, and more determined.
God, it was one of my favorite times with a firearm, a clear day, and gobs of ammo in a target rich environment...
The other girls were genuinely happy for her while some of the men felt let down that they didn't hit as many clays as she did...
I told all of them that the shooting sports is something that like any other sport has it's superstars and the not-quite-so-superstars.
Some people have uncanny accuracy, and some just spray lead.
The thing that makes it great is that anybody, any age, of any culture, even those with severe handicaps, can enjoy shooting.
It doesn't matter if you're good at it, just keep practicing and you WILL get better!
I also worked at an auto parts store... Another bastion of positive female oriented customer service and interaction... hahaha
Many is the time I'd have a female customer thank me for helping her out without being "just a guy who thinks I'm a stupid girl" as one lady put it.
Many was the time when a customer would refuse to ask one of my female co-workers a question and would wait for 10 minutes to talk to me, only to have me ask the girl where the part was/availability from our vendor/ recommend a good car wax... That used to really get them...
I've seen women turned away from certain types of handgun sales.
I've been discriminated against by the "I-know-everything" and "what do you need a gun like that for?" and "How can I (NOT!) help you" types.
I had the money in my pocket to buy what I wanted, but I wouldn't buy what they wanted to sell me, nor do I ever go back to them.
I live in Vermont, where I can go to my local gun shop and fondle everything from a .22 that folds up like a pocketknife, to a Barret light .50 with nothing more than a polite; "May I?"
I often fondle the Barret, at 35 pounds and $2500, it's my "Excalibur"
Sometimes I talk to Larry, Sometimes I talk to Karen...
It depends solely upon which one happens to be standing behind the counter and I enjoy doing business with both of them just the same as they both enjoy doing business with me and my wife.
Customer service can be had anywhere, it's customer satisfaction that will keep them coming back to your store...
That's the way it should be...
