I went through a Ruark phase a few decades back, and while I couldn't scrape together the cash for an original British rifle, Ruger obliged by introducing an affordable version just as the bug really bit.
It's in .416 Rigby, and while it never did go to Africa, it's been carried all over central and northern California and has accounted for its share of wild boar. It also has seen countless cast bullets backed by Trail Boss, which turns the big boomer into a fun toy - and has allowed far more practice than I otherwise would have been able to tolerate.
I'm not quite as obsessed with "old Africa" as I used to be, but the romance still is undeniable. I would love to see your examples!
