I just ran into a Smith&Wesson model 60, .38 2 inch snub.

Chrome hammer and trigger and marked inside the crane '60'. No dash. Pinned barrel to. Thin front sight and standard trigger pull (that is the springs have not been messed with.)

Locks tight but maybe just a slight amount of end shake.

$289 plus uncle sam ripoff.

So is that a decent price?

Very good price since those Model 60's hold their value. That revolver should be all stainless steel and have no chromed parts. S&W brought that model out as it's first SS gun and the hammer and trigger were dull colored SS and not chrome plated. At least my early model 60 was.

I need another j-frame like I need a .38 caliber hole in the head, but at that price I'd snap it up, play with it for a few months, and sell it for a profit. ;) I haven't seen one in a long time that I could get home for much less than four bills.

Well no guys, I ain't gonna sell it till I'm in geezer ville and I need the money.

See about 2 months ago I bumped into a Smith Bodyguard, pinned barrel, airweight, nickle at a different pawnshop for $299 plus Uncle ripoff. Yes I have that one in my safe already. It was made in the 80s and is tight and no scratches or flakes on anything like that.

And about five years ago I came upon a airwight centennial that had the stainless cylinder and barrel before this new stuff they now make. That one sleeps to right by the bodyguard!

Now and then I run into something like that and I snap it up! The trick is to go by the pawnshops you know have good deels now and then. Go weekly and just sniff around. And make sure you have enough money for a lay-away!

These guns I buy are not for any quick sale and some may be passed down. I may shoot them some but then I clean them real well and they go to sleep in the safe for many a winter!

And if you are wondering... I pack a Glock 26 with a TCP as backup. I do have a Smith 642 as a spare backup but I tend to use plastic guns for most of my packing and the good old ones I pick up.
