It also has no safety.....i was helping with an estate sale for a Vietnam vet who was in the II field force and led in the Tet offensive in nam. All of his papers Said secret forces.....with the gun was a piece of paper that said it was a war trophy with commanding signatures.....the gun came in an old leather Holster with 6 chineese bullots i. The holster....can anyone know its work

I showed my brother my XD-S .45 at the folks home, along with the Champion, and he is now going to come over (not on net, go figure!) and look through some sig videos and reviews, and he wants to get his concealed carry license now.

Guys he works with dig sigs, but he'll narrow-down the right choices with the info he gleans. I'll force him to look at other brands too. I wish he could at least shoot some of the sigs his buds at work have.

I want him to try my .45 at the range, just so he at least gets to use one he is interested in, and he showed a lot of interest in it.

He's thinkin' something in a 9mm for carry.

So, I got another CC/sidearm owner started, and that was worth gaining a pound or two today.

Since I am out of the country and couldn't bring anything with me.
1) I spent time reading and posting at THR!
2) Spent tme searching for deals for this weekend.
3) researched more reloading equipment so I can look for a sale and buy what I need this December.

"So what did you do gun related for Thanksgiving?"

Not a dang thing.

Came close, though, last Saturday when I was driving up to Camp Old Indian to meet my wife and kids for a Scout weekend. No less than a dozen wild turkeys crossed the road right in front of my car just before I got to Camp Old Indian.

Didn't have my rifle or shotgun with me and I seriously considered my .45.

But then, I was almost at the site and unplanned gunshots probably would have worried people. Not to mention the houses right over the rise.

And then there was that little fact that I don't have my hunting license yet...

:neener:

Pretty sight, though, seeing that many turkeys bebopping their way across the road.

I jumped when I heard something that sounded like a gunshot while standing around in my driveway.

Does that count?

5th annual "Turkey Shoot" I and my BIL bring some iron, esp. recent acquisitions, and shoot before and maybe after the meal. We've been bringing other members of the family out over the years. This year was I and my dad, my wife, my little sis, her husband (the BIL) and my nephew 2 rifles including a thumbhole stainless LH 17HMR, a .22 rifle, a Ruger 45, a couple 9mms, a 380, and a couple 22 revolvers. Oh, and a couple cans of tannerite.

Had a ball!!!

Showed my future brother in law how to take down, lube, and reassemble his new P938.
Same lesson for my Sister In Law with her 9mm Shield.

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.........It was the result of a firearm. Does this count?

My daughter and I made 100lbs of sausage Thanksgiving day from her first deer she was able to take last week. The Mrs insisted that I pass the tradition on to her. It was just her and I which equated into a lot of work but in the end it's always rewarding.

The beginning................

Near the end, just taken minutes ago from the smoke house..........

I purchased my first 1911. Its a RIA Tactical.

Way to go!

On another note, the only thing gun-related I did was debate the gun-control fallacy with my anti familiy members

We were all polite and respectful...even when my Aunt's new boyfriend claimed that 3D printers were, "able to make the trigger components for the AR15 which you aren't allowed to buy anymore". I promptly showed him just how easy it is to buy these parts online for 60 bucks or so.

I also explained that any half-good machinist with a mill, lathe, and some material can make a firearm that is much more functional than anything those 3D printers have come up with yet. And on THAT note, I showed him the "Garden shovel loophole" :D

(WARNING, there is some profanity in the linked-post, however the writeup is very interesting as it details a shovel's transformation to a functional AK47 receiver!)
For those of you who are not familiar with this loophole, here is a link to a write-up on the subject: http://www.northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/threads/179192-DIY-Shovel-AK-photo-tsunami-warning

Went to Academy Sports to look at a Taurus pistol and a Stevens shotgun they had on sale. Neither floated my boat. I bought a fish finder to upgrade the boat and a couple rods for the wife. Going to the Market Hall show in Dallas tomorrow.....chris3

I managed to get thru another holiday without shooting my wifes brother. He needs it. Thief, liar, two-faced,trouble maker,hypocrite,etc...

Went to an indoor range with my brother and one of his friends and fired just about every common caliber handgun around. We also flung $2 bills downrange one at a time, which is accomplished by blasting away with a Desert Eagle 50 caliber.

I sold a rifle to my daughter's boyfriend because he wants to train his young nephew to shoot and I want my ATV fixed and a new scope for my .223.

Must have been a nice high dollar rifle.
