So what gun do you want back?

A one of a kind custom combat star PD. I traded it for an expensive racing bicycle when I was 22. Heres a good one though, 10 yrs after college, I still have the bike, minus a chain, tires, brake cables ect. The same guy who I did the initial trade with, wants to trade back except this time it is for a brand new Russian M-38. I say that was a pretty modest depreciation on the star. I will never relinquish the Nagant!

New Model Ruger Blackhawk in .357.
It was my first "good" handgun. Sold to a guy that had a table at a local gunshow so I could fund another shooting project. Once he took posession he pretty much threw the cash at me. A real piece of work, he was.:cuss:
I instantly regretted that move. It was a nice shooter too, even though I'm really a S&W kinda' guy.

Well I haven't ever sold one yet. The only one I even want to sell is a Beretta Neos, and I don't think I'll miss that much. The only one I miss is a .22 from my youth that held a lot of meaning for me. I wasn't mature enough to have love for it at the time, and I allowed it to be damaged beyond repair.

I have a few, not as many as some of you have:

S&W model 28, target trigger and hammer, with a 5" barrel.
Beretta 84 or Browning BDA 380.
Any of my Dan Wesson Model 15 .357's, even the I built from old parts shot great.

Thankfully my list is short.

Colt AR-15 Sporter HBAR (in 1994, one of the first "flattop" rifles)
M-1 Garand "Tanker" in .308
Colt Series 90 Double Eagle 10mm

When I was in college I had an FEG Hi-power copy. After a year or so I decided I wanted a 1911, and, since I didn't have the money to buy one outright, I traded the Hi Power in on it. Within a year I was regretting it, but I was still in college and couldn't afford it. After graduating from college, it took me about 9 months to get a GOOD job, one where I had some surplus income. Before long I was back in the shop looking for that gun, as I had seen it there occasionally while I was in college. Sure enough, they had it. I got him to make me a deal since I was also buying a Mini-14 and it had been sitting there for about 2 years. I ended up getting it back for little more than the trade-in price!

Colt 1911 38 Super Race Gun (all the bells but the optics) and a Colt Government MK IV 380...the memories.

....375 Weatherby, custom made in 1960's, one owner, left hand model; walnut stock, custom inlay of ebony & ivory.... bought for 1$200, appraised value $5000.

the moron writing this gave it away in a fit of generosity to an unworthy twotiming yankee mannered damnfoolkentuckian. i chastise myself regularly.

i could have done a down & dirty deed and gotten it back by legal means, but i took the high road.

The S&W model 59 (original one) I bought in about 76 and sold when I needed a truck payment in 87. That thing was SCARY accurate. We used to sit on a tank dam out at the ranch and clip mesquite branches at 40-50 ft. with it with the first one to miss buying beers the next night.

I want pretty much all of them back. The problem is I have a limited gun budget and to fund a new one I often times must let something go. Life is about choices, and I've made some bad ones but overall I'm pretty happy with what I have.

my Remington 11-87 Special Purpose with 23" rifled barrel and 3-9x32 scope

I have not sold anything i want back, maybe that Heavy Duty, but I do not care for N frames.
There are a few I wish I had bought back a while.
a Colt Detective Special of an Agent.
A 1911 Commander in Satin Nickle.
a Marlin 39M instead of a cheaper Sears Bolt action 22.

I have always missed my first pistol, a Ruger Standard Model or mark 1 with 6" tapered barrel. I bought it from the classifieds in Denver with money I saved working concrete over my summers. My Mom asked me to sell it prior to me leaving to serve a mission for my church--self funded. I didn't know any better and listed it in the paper for $90. It was gone by 8am the first morning. I always keep my eyes open for one like it at the gun shows.

You mean people get rid of guns?

I suppose so, or there wouldn't be any old ones for me to buy.

I've never sold/traded a gun. There are a few I regret not buying.

My thoughts exactly. I have guns I need to sell because I dislike them and I still refuse to. I think if I was having money problems it would be an easier choice for me to sell my car or cash out my 401k then sell my beloved firearms.
