Wow! I paid $250 for a brand-new Gen 1 when the Gen 2s came out. Who knew it was a good investment?
Yeah, but that was years ago and pre covid. The cheapest I’ve seen new old stock shield 1.0 going for during Covid was $350 for a bunch of .40 shields at my LGS. Look on Gunbroker.

Could you say that in English? My gibberish is kinda rusty.

Hasty Generalization fallacy.

Means nothing. There are plenty of top tier manufacturers who don't have juicy military or law enforcement contracts either.

Oh, so I guess Tauri aren't all "garbage."
(How y'all like that Latinate plural?)

No one is pretending that Taurus, KelTec and SCCY have the same fit, finish and attention to detail as some of the higher end brand, but that hardly makes them either "garbage" or "dangerous."

On the other hand, S&W and Colt (among others) have produced some real turds as well.
Not agreeing with the other poster, nor am I saying that SCCY and Taurus can’t fit the bill for useable, affordable firearms. In no way though are they a “top tier” manufacture that just doesn’t have a gov contract, nor the same average quality as the S&W level brands.

I did not say SCCY and Taurus are top tier manufacturers. I said "there are plenty of top tier manufacturers who don't have juicy military or law enforcement contracts either."

I also went on to say "no one is pretending that Taurus, KelTec and SCCY have the same fit, finish and attention to detail as some of the higher end brands, but that hardly makes them either "garbage" or "dangerous."

Dang. Is it that hard to understand?

Your argumentation points implied the opposite on both counts, even with moderating statements. For ex, the point about gov contracts.

In another thread on pointless gun-argument phrases, I submitted the "carry [this gun] 'cuz it's what the cops carry" crap.

No one here is carrying what "the cops carry" except the cops. If I was still a cop, maybe I would still be carrying what they do (service-grade sidearm, at least three magazines, secondary handgun, impact weapon, chemical weapon, electric weapon, two pairs of handcuffs (or one and some zip-strips), patrol knife, flashlight, two-way radio, cell phone, pens, gloves, hand sanitizer, etc, all while wearing a BRV.)

My mission is different from theirs. Yours should be as well.

One can only speak from personal experiences mate, and I have mine with a couple of the weapons you referenced.. it’s my opinion the versions I had were
“garbage” for me. Sorry I apparently touched a nerve? Nevertheless last time I checked, we had a first amendment in these United States. put me on your ignore list, and I will afford you the same.

Can confirm that Taurus mentioned will take the sig 226 mags. Pretty funny having the 21 round mec gar hanging off.

Decent gun that was a car gun for awhile, trigger snobbery made me sell it but still kinda wish I had it. Definitely miss the ec9 I got face to face for 150...

G3 Taurus.JPG S&W 9SDV.JPG Both of these guns are reliable and accurate. The S&W does have an Apex trigger installed. Both over $300.00 though, at least around here. I have fired at least 300 rounds out of each and either would be a fine carry gun. Taurus G3 and S&W SD9VE.

except for the lower cost of 9mm ammo, the search for a reliable, concealable, new, centerfire, $250ish handgun leads me to a steel taurus 856 38sp revolver. lower capacity until you practice with speedloaders or the semiauto jams because of a bad mag. dont like how it feels in the hand or want to tame its recoil? swap out the whole grip. need to shoot it with your off hand or a hand is too damaged to rack the slide? a nongunner family member needs to use it in extremis? just point and pull the trigger.
