(I don't know if they are located elsewhere) now has the infamous revolver with the line through it sign.

I will be communicating to their HQ that they will no longer get out business.

They aren't authorized to prohibit weapons, at least not in my state. If one of those joints pulled that around here, I'd ignore it. If I was still a kid, I'd alter the sign, maybe putting "Automatics Only!" underneath the red ring.

There's several in the ATL area, they're a pseudo sports bar with wings & beer. Some are part of a chain whose parent company had them put up the slash signs after the GA law changed this past July.

There's about 20 of them in GA, most in metro ATL I believe. I vote with my dollars, and won't patronize a restaurant with such idiotic rules, but feel free to send them a comment :)

On a side note the sign holds no weight of law in GA, but if you are asked to leave you must or risk a trespassing arrest.

The Ga law is finally on our side. I ignore the sign, conceal well and enjoy the wings. Same goes for the local Dollar Theater in Fayetteville. I am much more concerned about the walk from the parking lot than inside the establishments.

I am torn about this one. I am supposed to go watch the game there, but I don't want to patronize an establishment that takes a position like that. Perhaps I will not go.

Some of the Waffle Houses in the Atlanta Metro area also have signs that are not that large behind the counter.

As noted, they have no force of law in Georgia. I ignore those signs except to tell the employees that the sign has no force of law in Georgia after I pay and as I'm leaving.

The Augusta Mall tried to bar taxi drivers from carrying concealed in their taxis in the mall parking lot several years ago. I never heard anything else about it and I think the taxi drivers simply ignored them.

I don't frequent the Augusta Mall that frequently and when I do, I go armed. I haven't noticed any futile signs.

Join Georgiacarry.org (see link below) to help ensure that no such bills become enacted into law here in Georgia.

hate to be the devils advocate here, but its my understanding, and is written on the back of my ga firearms license. that you are not permitted to carry anywhere that alcohol is sold for consumption.
now i am a big taco mac wing fan, but i am afraid that the "over 100 beers on tap with 500 in the cooler" deff qualifies as a place of beer consumption.
not to say that i personally frequent those estiblishments w/o concealed carry, but i also exceed the posted speed limits on occasion, so im not the best to ask.

if i am wrong on my understanding of this please let me know, because i could be.

Believe that part of GA ccw was changed last year.

I have heard nothing back from my correspondence to them. It was polite and to the point.

It appears they do not care.

soggysod,

I'm pretty sure that was changed to you can carry in establishments that serve alcohol for consumption, just not if they derive over a certain percentage. Basically, you can go to a restaurant that serves alcohol, but not a bar that serves food.

It's a moot point with me, I don't hang out in bars anymore. :)

good change then, that pretty much ruled out anywhere i would go other than work or home, which both places i can carry legally without a license!
thats a tough one though, taco mac is deff a bar, i mean the greatest selection of beer in georgia!.
i wonder how one is supposed to decide whether a restauraunt is a bar or vice versa?

Their food really isn't that good and I'd much rather spend my time and $$$ somewhere that respects my rights.

I was a Passport member but cancelled it and sent a note through their email list telling them why.

Just don't be consuming any alcohol while carrying. Not only is it a violation of fundamental gun safety rules, if something actually happened where you were forced to use your gun you would be open to prosecution.

Try explaining that to a jury; "But I only had two beers, there was nothing wrong with my judgement"

Bottom line, guns and alcohol don't mix.

GTSteve03,

Have you had a response?
Not yet, and I doubt I will. It was some sort of automated "why did you decide to unsubscribe from our mailing list?" forms, so I doubt they even read it.
