Is gun control legislation realistic? Texas Governor Rick Perry, in an excerpt from The Big Interview, says proposed laws limiting a gun's magazine capacity is a solution that does not exist.

Holy cow...he actually BELIEVES this?

I was surprised that Rick Perry didn't seem to be against Universal Background checks from listening to the interview. Closing the "Gun Show Loophole". Very disappointing.

I would have asked, "Rolf, can you name one thing that's ever been banned and summarily disappeared from the hands of the bad guys?"

Gov. Perry seems about 90% to our way of thinking but he needs to get some talking points about why universal background checks are a bad idea.

He just is not a great public speaker, as we saw in the debates. I think he just gets uncomfortable when "on the air".

LOL. Why not just pass a law banning breaking into someone's house?

Oops, we already have that. What makes them think that the bad guys will obey magazine laws while violating breaking and entering laws?

With apologies to the good people of Texas, Sometimes if not most of the time Governor Perry opens his mouth just wide enough to insert his foot. He was fun to listen to during the presidential debates.

Ok, the open carry thing stung a little so....

My govenor has a line of Ruger .380's dedicated to him. Oh, and we've got jobs out the ying yang.

He didn't come out for UBC but some way to screen the dangerously mentally ill. That is a very complex issue.

I would have liked to ask him about campus carry - on which he fell down in the current legislative session.

All in all, it wasn't a bad interview.
