First gun owned was a Colt Government Series 80.

15 days later I realized I needed a 9mm also, so I picked up my 2nd gun, a Sig P226

:D

The first Pistol I bought was a G19. I originaly wanted a G17 but it didn't fit my hand right.

I have to thank ABC news and the staff of 20/20 for showing me how cool the Glock was way back when. There report stuck in my mind for years and when I finially made the decision to become a handgun owner I new my first one had to be a Glock.

THANK YOU ABC news and 20/20 for introducing me to such a great and cool firearm.

At least one time the gun grabbers plans backfired:neener:

Glock 19. Not gonna sell it, either.

I had gang-banging, drug-dealing tenants that I had to evict. Evictions are slow, and I still had to regularly visit the property at all kinds of hours for all kinds of reasons. Nothing like walking past several bangers that take exception to your evicting one of their girlfriends.

It being my first pistol, I didn't know that the Glock trigger's supposed to suck. I still don't.

CZ 85 Combat

Got a CZ 85 combat as my 1st handgun a couple years ago. I now have a Kimber 1911 and a Kahr MK9. I still shoot the CZ best.

Early 80s I was 15 or 16 and bought an H&R 9shot-revolver .22 NIB from a local hardware store for $109, no paperwork!
Bought it to run traps with. Took it to school and made a set of grips in shop class. Those were the days.

I have owned and shot handguns since the age of nine, but of course they were gifts from my father.
The first handgun I bought with my own money was a Ruger Old Army. Why ? Because I wanted to buy a new handgun and I wasn't old enough to buy a cartridge handgun (I think I was 18 years old at the time). I always liked black powder and spent several years enjoying the Old Army.
The first cartridge handgun I ever bought on my own was on my 21st birthday. It was a Raven in .25 ACP. The reason was that I was going to school and working for minimum wage. I didn't have much money and wanted to exercise my "right" to buy a handgun. Growing up, I had seen plenty of small hideout type handguns on TV, but had never actually fired one, or even held one. So, I didn't just settle for the Raven, I was actually excited about it. I have told this story before, but... Since personal use of the internet wasn't around back then, I didn't know the Raven was a POS. So, I enthusiastically shot it, and even refinished the stocks and bought an outside the belt holster for it. When I eventually sold it, I was completely content with it's quality, accuracy, and reliability of function. I was far from enthusiastic about the performance of the ammunition.
Last summer I came across the identical gun, used, at a store and purchased it for old time's sake. I haven't gotten around to actually firing it at this point and probably won't.

The first handgun I ever owned period was a Ruger Standard Model .22 autoloader that my dad purchased for me at a gun show for $50. He also owned a S&W Model 17 which I got to shoot. Contrary to what the libs would have you believe, none of them ever got up and shot someone on their own, and dispite the fact that I was nine years old at the time, I never shot anyone, never had an accident with them, and never destroyed someone elses property with them. I still own the Model 17 along with a duplicate I bought recently. I still own a Ruger Standard Model although my first one is long gone.

Glock 26

It was a good first gun for me and served me pretty well, but that particular gun was sold a couple years after I bought it.

Well, I don't recall seeing a Raven for maybe 20 years. But then again, maybe I wasn't looking. The Ravens also came in three different finishes, blue, a brushed finish that might have been nickel, and a high gloss chrome like finish. My original one was the "nickel" and this was the same finish I found recently. I wouldn't have had any interest in it if it hadn't been the same one I owned.

Exactly as someone else posted, my first was (and still is) a Browning Hi Power MkIII. The second it hit my hand, I knew i had to have it. Also being the first time I'd seen one in person, I was impressed at how slim and small it was. I expected it to be the same size as a 1911. I just absolutely loved it. So, after much saving, I bought her June 20th of this year. :D

Enfield Mk. 2 #1* in Brit .380/200 (.38 S&W)

I'm a big WWII buff and when I saw it in the case, and realized I could afford it, I had to have it. I still have it, but don't shot it much since ammo has gotten harder to find. (I still have never actually fired any mil-surp Brit ammo through it. I'd like to once, just to see if it shoots POI/POA with it instead of about a foot low like it does with .38 S&W)

The first handgun I got was an AMT .380 backup, the single action model. Worked good, except that it threw brass right in your face with a two handed hold.

The first handgun that I purchased by myself (on my 21st birthday) was a S&W Model 29 Classic Hunter with a 8 3/8" barrel. "Go ahead, make my day."

Glock 19... very fond of it. Simple, and well made.

I don't remember why I bought it. Must be the look of it... :)
