Help to make a Stainless 39A a reality
There has been discussion on several forums about Marlin producing a 39A in stainless. I am starting this thread with the hope we can convince Marlin to produce this gun. It has been said that letters convinced Marlin to but the bulls-eye back so maybe this will work. I plan to post this thread on Marlin Owners, Marlin Collectors, Rimfire Central and both High Roads. Please feel free to post it anywhere you think it may do some good. If you think of other places please post it. I will post sample letters that can be used as guidelines. Others can post their own letters to share ideas. We will also need names, addresses and e-mail accounts of people to send the letters to. I have never found an e-mail address for Marlin, anyone have one? Davidson’s is the first distributor that comes to mind, anyone know any others? The sales representivies are another group we need. If you are, a Gun Shop owner may be you can help here.
My thought is we start by asking for the normal 39A that is produced today only in stainless. I know the dislike of the cross bolt safety and rebound hammer comes up in this discussion. I believe we must accept them as they have been in production for over 20 years. Trying to incorporate that change will decrease our chances significantly. The same holds true for a shorter barrel. I do not know why Marlin no longer produces a Mountie length 39. Marlin must have a reason. If we only approach one change to the gun (the material used in production), we stand a better chance of success. When we accomplish this then we can start our next project a 20” barrel. Cost has also been discussed it seems everything we buy costs more than it should. I would think the cost difference would be similar to the difference in price between the stainless and regular center fire guns. When a person thinks about it, a gun takes about the same amount of machining and materials no matter if it is a rim fire or center fire.

Dear Sir
I am writing this letter as a Marlin owner and fan in the hope you will produce a 39A in stainless. I believe the success you have had with your stainless center fire levers would show public acceptance for stainless levers and that we are ready for a stainless 39A. I am sure you have someone monitoring different forums on the internet and have seen some of the talk of a stainless 39A. Please forward it this letter to the proper person capable of making this important decision. Thank you for taking the time to consider my suggestion.
Sincerely;

Dear Sir
I am writing this letter as a Marlin owner and fan in the hope you will help convince Marlin to produce a 39A in stainless. In the past, you have had success in bringing several unique variations of popular guns from different manufacturers to the market. I believe the success Marlin has had with their stainless center fire levers would show public acceptance for stainless levers and that we are ready for a stainless 39A. I am sure you have someone monitoring different forums on the internet and have seen some of the talk of a stainless 39A. Please forward it this letter to the proper person capable of helping bring this dream to a reality. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely;
