42 receding hair, sensitive teeth, need glasses, hearing going to crap. Hey at least I make enough to feed my appetite for powder, primers, brass. Getting older, but a few more posts by other members will soon make me happy I am the age I am.

Although I feel like the last answer this morning, I'm actually 52.

I was surprised that the 50-60's is the largest demographic at this point. That's interesting.

Boomer, if anyone tells you how to edit the poll, I'd suggest that you change the "over 60" category to "60-70", and add another category, "over 70".

After all, 70 is the 'new 50', I've heard...:D

You mean I'm hanging out with a bunch of 50-year-olds!? What!? That adds, like, 20 years to my age!
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Gonna be 17 here soon.

Wow, this is interesting. My age group is currently showing by far the smallest percentage. I wonder how the history of the attitude about guns has to do with this and patterns of gun ownership, gun control legislation and how anti-gun advertising campaigns have influenced society.

I remember when growing up there was no real organized gun rights community that I was aware of outside the NRA and the antis were able to get away with spewing whatever bull they wanted to without being strongly challenged. I remember the anti handgun commercials when I was in my teens like the ones comparing gun murder in the UK, Japan and the Netherlands to the US using total deaths without comparing populations in the same commercials. I wonder if this false and/or misrepresenting advertising going mostly unchallenged for years during my age group's influential period has something to do with the poll results.

interesting spread of ages...I would have assumed (you know what happens when we assume) that there would not have been as many in the 20s...that being said I'm 24.

Cool poll. I am surprised we have not seen one before. I too was surprised b the heavy upper end. I would have guessed more in the thirty-five to forty-five range.:D

44 here, not much smarter but better armed than when i was 22.
Things to watch out for when you hit 40 for the younger guys here.
1. knees make more noise than cocking you SAA.
2. back keeps you at a good angle for looking into the lower cabinets for stuff.
3. more hair grows on your ears than you head.
4. bifocals are usefull for trimming your toenails so they don't look like claws.
5. a belt is not an option any more, your butt is now flat and pants just fall down.
6. you used to be "v" shaped, now your pear shaped(with no butt).
7. combo of nose hair and mustash run into one item.
8. back hair "needs" to be trimmed.

There are more of these out there, this is just what i have noticed lately.

I'm 44 too, but I keep telling my kids that I'm 10. Not sure which age group to check in the poll. :D

simmonguns -- You gotta fight that pear shaped thing! I find that if I ride a bicycle 100 miles a week, the gut will stay away. That said, I made the disastrous decision to remodel my house this year, the project has been dragging on, and so I haven't been on my bike at all. Consequently, I'm beginning to look like a pear.

Getting old really sucks, except that the alternative sucks even more ....

I wonder with the higher than expected possible gun ownership among your age group if this means gun ownership is on an upwards trend in the coming years.

Yep, it's an interesting spread ...

I'm in my mid-50's now. Looking forward to retirement and becoming a grandfather for the first time.

Personally, I enjoy watching younger folks who are enthusiastic when they discover new ways to make the same old mistakes. :uhoh:

Then again, I also find that people really become interesting once they've hit their 40's and have had the chance to travel some of life's bumpier roads ... as long as they develop and keep a sense of humor. ;)

The whole reading glasses thing is annoying as hell, though.

If I'd been given the choice between my hair turning gray or turning loose, I'd have chosen the distinguished gray thing ...

All things considered, the saying that growing old is not for sissies has some merit, I think. :)
