I am glad there are so many 50 somethings on the high road. That age group is the backbone of wisdom. As fer the youngsters, it is scientific fact that the frontal lobe of the brain doesn't completely mature until 25.

If there aren't enough younger shooters there won't be enough support in the fight against gun control/etc. Precisely why the antis want to limit childrens' ability to shoot/use guns. Get them while they're young...

I'm 17, but I've been a member of The Firing Line since I was 14.

Despite not yet being able to buy guns for myself, I have managed to aquire 10 of them in 3 years. Number 11 is gonna be this month.

I was surprised that the 50-60's is the largest demographic at this point. That's interesting.

I have a theory on that, Springmom. That age group was beginning to be interested in politics and followed that ...ummmm... stuff seriously. Which means they followed the controversy and debates on the '68 gun law. Being raised by people who knew the difference between a machine and a criminal, they would naturally be drawn into the active and the activism side of gunning.

Wheeler, I'm certainly old enough, but I still don't know better. I put 50 miles on these 68 yo feet this weekend. I think I might have worked out another piece of shrapnel, too.

This is an interesting poll, but I think the way it was set up is a little problematic when it comes to making any sense of it. Shouldn't each poll option cover the same number of years? If one option covers 10 years and another only covers 5 years, is it any surprise that the one with 10 years has twice as many people?

29 turn 30 next year! I'm scared as hell of 30 that's when I have to grow up more I am already too darn grown up. Anybody ever see that Disney movie where Bruce Willis meets his kid self and the kid isn't real impressed. I am pretty sure my 10 year old self would kick me in the balls. Although I have had moderate success to this point, by my plans from age 10 I am a complete failure. Oh well you want to make god laugh show him your plans.
