I saw all I needed to know about this "list" when they had the Ruger SR9 listed out of the top 5. Both the SR9 and SR9C are top guns, with features that outshine most of the expensive guns. The "top gun" (CZ) has a trigger set on it that makes you need to grow your trigger finger an inch to be able to reach the trigger unless the gun is cocked, so while I like shooting CZ's, they fall back to 2nd or 3rd tier because of their trigger systems.
The Beretta 92FS is a good choice, and one of my favorite guns... so they got that one right.
Completely ignored were the Springfield EMP and Paras, which are super carry guns that are both sized well and super reliable.
The Smith and Wesson M&P's were also dismissed as 2nd tier, and while the "list" was supposed to be unbiased, it shows a lot of arrogance to me. The M&P's are some of the most popular pistols on the market, and I sell a ton of them at our gun store, so I wonder if the people who made up this list ever shot all the guns they wrote about, or just ignored marketshare indicators of good pistols. I also didn't see any Colt pistols on the list.
Tanfoglio didn't get mentioned either, and they make super guns. I think this list needs revamping, and needs to include some sub-chapters... like military guns, competition guns, and "marketplace" guns... maybe even "carry" guns... because I see some major holes in this one.
