First responders??????

1. First responders to most crimes, can more and more to be said to be, the armed citizen sheepdog, standing over the corpse of the criminal!

2. First responders, eh? I live in the 49th state in educational awareness, LA. When I had to be taken to the local V.A. for a life-threatening emergency in 2008, I dialed 911. Welllll, since I live in "the other town across the river from the 911 call center, y'all", I was transferred to the local Sheriff's office (tick, tick,tick), then to the local police department (tick,tick,tick), then finally to an ambulance service, who came 20 minutes later! You see, my herniated colostomy had shut down. It was nearly a half-hour till I was helped down the stairs to the waiting ambulance.

With that sort of example of "first responders", it makes one decide that the phone call for 911 might be after the security of the abode has been reclaimed, first, (rug stain be damned).

Remember, under Ocare, any doctor can ask any family member if there are 'firearms in the house'!

For the record, I am finished hating on Chicago. I will no longer whine, grouse, snipe, or wheedle about them, NOR California neither!

There are lots of good folks everywhere. The problem is that in some places the ignorant amongst us has run amok and seized control. Maybe if we hope for and work for spreading truth, common sense, and a love of liberty, we can do more to change the in-the-dark corners of the United States. I'm remaining determinedly optimistic.

If Chicago's government continues to abuse and demonize law-abiding gun-owners, especially by delaying/withholding critical care, there will be lawsuits, and this seems to be the only way Chicago's unconstitutional gun laws get stamped out one-by-one.

from the stories ive heard you may be robbed by first responders here in detroit,they have been accused numerous times,of lifting a victums wallet,or weapon,and they stick together,nobody saw nuthin

From the stories I've heard, anyone with less then a full set of teeth and who owns a firearm is a cousin copulating redneck!

You know what would be funny? If the police came to confiscate your firearms without you breaking the law and you reply with something like, "I'm sorry officer, but you're not a licensed FFL and I can't legally transfer my firearms over to your posession without legal consent of the BATFE. Obviously this' completely unrealistic but it's a fun idea to play around with.

Mayor is on record to put as many road-blocks as possible to prevent citizens from legally getting guns...some have waited 4 months...without success, next...they will conveniently discover some technicality...reject your application for correction, and when you do sent it back in...your photo is over 30 days old! Rejected! Start all over again! Don't think it won't happen...that is standard procedure for "Reluctant" for police depts...
...it took 2 years once!

Pay lip-service to compliance, and for ever citizen that gives up, they win another one!

I don't want to sound like Archie Bunker here, but IMO this is just a step toward socialism, fascism, communism etc. Will they next be controlling how many children we can have? Will we revert back to limiting somone's rights based on race? I don't see anything good coming from this if it is allowed to become the law of the land.

The Chicago government, spearheaded by Daley, has been spanked by SCOTUS twice now. So now they're scrambling for another back door to deprive Chicagoans of their Constitutional rights.

This legislation not only isn't productive, but it clearly creates a sub-class of citizens of gun owners.

Next thing you know, Mayor Daley will have all gun owners riding at the back of the bus, or using separate-but-equal "gun-owner" drinking fountains. He seems personally determined to keep the people of Chicago from exercising their 2A rights.

I figure any politician this hell-bent on taking away one right is salivating at the chance to take the rest at the first opportunity.

Mayor Daley is a dictator and a tyrant, and we should all help Chicago however we can in his removal from office. I'll personally donate 10 bucks to the campaign of his opponents. I encourage everyone here to do the same. I'll donate 20 bucks if the new candidate is vocally pro 2A.

Honestly that's not a bad idea at all. If mayors of other cities can stick their noses into the business of the rest of the country as far as gun control is concerned then the rest of the country should be sticking their assets into the removal of these people.

In the last decade, the canadian gun registry has proven to be useless. Not a single crime has been solved (criminals are not licenced gun owners), not one single victim has been saved (a piece of paper or database doesn't prevent anyone from doing anything), and a few police officers got themselves killed because the information in this registry was wrong.

I actually have a Merwin & Bray. It's a 1 shot .32 rimfire from the 1860's.

while there is a monetary value to guns, which will be stored in salt water till returned to you, to many of us, there is family history in them as well that can not be measured in dollars. everytime i hear some politician or movie star pleading, for the sake of the children, i feel a sudden urge to reach for an airsick bag. it wont stop either, every accident, or mass shooting drives another nail in our rights. the 2nd amendment is the teeth of the constitution, without the 2nd amendment, the others will fall fast. i for one feel our heritage is priceless and will need to be protected in the future, as it has been in the past

Wait I live in southern (still free at the moment) Illinois and cant understand this.......If you can get a handgun with this overpriced permit you must "keep it at home". Now how is one to transport their firearm to a range to practice......or are these permit holders allowed to practice in their homes or appartments.....with live rounds........into home made tragets....*** is wrong with this city and its thinking. Hey guess what daley....there is no more organized gangs or crime syndicates. They are in politics now and running the city.

After Nam fell some of our military and X-military who knew we had left captured alive POW's( Laos 250ish Cambodia ???) seriously thought about the classic insurrection for (in their minds) a just and honorable government. What stopped them more than anything was the fear that the American public would not understand their motives and turn against these so called liberators with all their guns an ire. Funny the active military folks did not concern them as much as the armed population. Another oddity was Nixon was going to declare Martial law.... Ft. Hood Texas First cav armor was loaded and ready to go to Washington. Marines and Army were in agreement. Air Force and Navy said NO WAY Jose'! Air Force was super pissed at frag orders coming out of Washington during the war. No I was not on the train just knew a company commander (Major) who was. Story was relayed to me by him...Point of all this.....America would be a tough nut to crack if everyone who has a gun were to be focused on a particular problem. Now if they drug the water poison the food well we prolly all screwed.
