Absolute hog wash. There is a difference between choosing a lesser priced competitor’s product, for a product that isn’t patented and buying a forgery.people paying $700 for a piece of steel seems more like theft to me. By that logic I can assume you will only drive a Ford. Do you only take Uber because lift stole their idea? Also you can't go to burger king or Wendy's. They stole McDonald's idea. It's a free market. If microtech can't stay competitive they don't deserve the money.

exactlyThat's the most BS I've ever heard. If I'm a knife maker I don't deserve the money from my own designs? So Chinese rip-offs are A-OK? I was a knifemaker for 10 years and you have no idea what you are talking about. We design, and make that design into steel and you call it theft because someone wants to buy it? You have no clue.
Benchmade love this knife. Most expensive folding knife I've bought.View attachment 1009415
The only thing I used it for was to cut a weed for #3 son's college weed collection, lol. It sliced right through the thumb sized woody stem. (Common Teasel).
Met the maker at the local Farmer's market and ordered this. Blackbird Blades in Ozark MO. I think it's a cool little knife. He calls this design "Sparrow". Steel is 80CRV2. Black and white ebony scales like this is a new one on me. He's making the sheath tomorrow. Horizontal carry.
