I'm back to revolvers, I've carried almost everything, 1911's, which are still my favorite range/competition pistol, Glocks, great guns, I just don't like the things. I went with the mindset to be ready for anything, service pistol with at least one spare mag, back up gun, tactical folder, flashlight etc. I now think this is over the top, for me anyway, the type of situation that much equipment calls for is thankfully extremely rare. I now carry a S&W mod 64 .38 with a 2" barrel, a speed strip of extra ammo, a P3AT, because there is no reason not to carry it, a flashlight, and a small swiss army knife, with the last two items used almost daily, and the others, never. I like the revolver as a primary because, it is about as reliable as a machine can be, it requires almost no maintenance, and it is as simple to use as a gun can be. If the time comes when I think I might need more than this, I'll keep my AR handy.
