Let's the the hypothetical ish has hit the fan. What are you grabbing for defense?

My edc is a glock 27 with an extra mag, and I've got an old beater sig p226 (old, but its still going strong) in the car lock box with an extra mag. I can't bring my carry gun to work under any circumstances, sadly.

What are you guys using?

Everything in the safe, distributed among the family and friends. Nothing stays behind.

My fan has a metal guard; most of the ish is see around here won't fit through the slats. If it does make it through, I can probably take it with a rimfire, although why a fan would be used as an ish barrier in the first place is beyond me.

I would have a go-to gun, but I lost them all in a terrible boating accident. Now all I have for SHTF/TEOTWAWKI are some steak knives and a beagle.

Which ever centerfire I happen to have the most ammo for on that particular day. Guns that don't qualify as effective defense don't get to hang around here.

for my hit fits the shan arsenal I pack an SR9C for concealment and that would probably be my go to weapon till I got home, then I would probably grab my M4 and slap my XDM45 on my belt. I also have an AK that I use as a backup and if things get really nasty I have a 9mm AR15

If I have to bug out and I can quickly grab two firearms, I'm getting my Glock 22 with all 12 mags and my extended tube Browning pump gun with a 7.62 can full of 00 buckshot. If just one, the Glock. Either way I'd already have my 642.

CZ P-07 Duty 9mm, planning on getting a RIA Tactical .45 as my nightstand gun, also have a Mini-14 in case i need it.

Glock 20 in the car with 6 full mags. (also a .40 conversion barrel and ammo)

EDC a Glock 29.

.357 revolver under the pillow and 870 marine magnum nearby.
(German Shepherd on guard beside the bed).

I'm grabbing my glock 21 and/or my trusty ole remmington 870 pump, assuming I'm home. If I'm out my glock 23 is my consealment gun with my g27 on my ankle. I'm fixing to go order an arsenal ak, so it will be my long range it ISH really really hits the fan. Sweet Jesus I hope it never comes to having to grab or truck carry an ak....but I think it will eventually.

If the ish hits the fan, I would be going for a rifle, armor, and lots of mags. Then I'd call up all my friends with rifles, armor, and lots of mags, and we would beat the ish out of anyone who tried to attack us. :D

And that's only partially in jest. If I think I'm going to be in a fight, I'm bringing a rifle. If I think there's going to be a fight, I want to be able to feed that rifle. And if I think there's going to be a fight, why in God's name WOULDN'T I want armor? Granted, I don't have any yet, but they're on the long list of things to get as soon as I can afford to... Maybe the ish can postpone its suicide run until I get all my gear and training?

But seeing as this is a handgun forum, my secondary would be a Glock 17 with several additional mags. If we're talking run of the mill ish like a random robbery/murder, my carry gun is a Sig 228.

My M&P 45c, my WASR-10, and my Mossberg 12g. I would also call my brothers, and my friends, and father, and we would go to my pops house and make it our home base. This is where we would hold down the bad guys, until there were no more left. The bad guys wouldn't stand a chance, it would be awesome. Lol

:)

Glock 21SF, then Remington 870, then Bushmaster XM15 E2S or Arsenal SGL21.

If the ish hits the fan, I'm getting out of the way of the ish.

That's the only smart answer. ^

That said, this is in the wrong forum. Handguns are only useful to fight your way to a real gun. For me, that means my AR.

So if I was in the unfortunate situation of relying on a hangun to get me to my rifle, I suppose I'd use my Walther P99. Might as well do it in style.

My post above states 9mm. I'm in poor health so I'll be staying home. Yes, 9mm or 45 ACP are at my finger tips 24/7 but 12ga is within arm's reach. For true "ish" I'm not going to worry about it.

everything! at least 30 06, 44 mag superblackhawk (long range), .45 P-90 12 g Winchester (not so long). (ME) .Mac 90 SKS (wife and I mid range) .38 scp for wife. should be good

While it's my CCW choice in the Fall-Winter months, my PT-92 would be my go-to SHTF handgun due to multiple variables, namely, it's high-capacity, plentiful ammo on hand and the fact that I shoot it very well. Obviously, in a SHTF type situation, it will be my sidearm only as a long-gun will be my primary defense.

-Cheers
