I work for my living.

That means I don't have big piles of disposable money like some folks appear to have.

So, I shoot a lot more .22 than anything else.

$20 worth of ammo for just about any "real" gun lasts about ten minutes, but with the .22LR I can shoot for quite a while.

When I introduce my Marlin 39 to this discussion, it turns into a downright pleasurable way to spend an afternoon.

Yeah, I have some "Real" guns... But I shoot my .22s WAY more often.

The only rifle I've shot in the past 20-plus years is one I acquired last month, and only ten rounds thus far. Methinks I need to shoot my new toy a bit more... 1-H .405...

I shoot a western Auto Parts .22 Semi Auto which is a Marlin Model 60.This rifle was made some where between 1960 & 1967. This .22 is fun & cheap to shoot.

The rimfires by a vast margin. As much as 20-30,000rds a year.

Beyond that it's leverguns in .30-30, .32-20, .38-40, .44Mag and .45Colt. I have but one AR and burn about a case of ammo a year.

I work for my living too.

Rimfire .22lr

Marlin 60 & Ruger 10/22 carbine ;) . Cheap and fun to shoot. Have to go easy on the center fire stuff for now :what:, $$ is tight.

Lately....

not much. The gun club I have belonged to for 20 years just banned all the ammo for my military rifle collection. I need a new place to shoot....chris3

I don't own any rifles chambered for .22LR but I own plenty chambered for various .308" calibers and up. I shoot bolt action rifles way more than anything else. It's hard to beat the fun of knocking down steel plates at 500 yards plus, but maybe it's time to buy a CZ in .22LR and start knocking down soda cans at 50 yards.

WHAT!!! May I ask what you have been shooting that's been banned??

Jim

All I've shot for a number of years is CZ's 22lr. I have 6 22's but my 3 CZ's get all the time, and my Ultralux the majority of that. I squirrel hunt with it and very much enjoy now, longer range targets with the open sights. More and more I wish I had some Mil-Surps, 03 Springfield especially and a Mauser 98, and maybe another or 2, but cost of shooting would hinder that I know. I'd sure like get my hands on some of the oldy-goldy 22's, especially a Mauser and 1922 Springfield, all for open irons tho!

I still like to shoot my Mosin the most, but for economy sake will probably start to shift over to my 22 rifle more in the near future.

Definitely 22lr in a Marlin 39 and an old Higgins single shot that is more accurate than it has a right to be.

Not on the list but my 50 caliber flintlocks are next. They're my most affordable-to-shoot rifles.

Retirement has many benefits but a lot of extra spending money isn't one of them.
