Have my Dad's 1911; but I like a smaller .45 - So my Firestar. Makes the very same size hole as the 1911. Only thing is, I gotta find a slightly extended magazine for the Firestar. Maybe one more round and a mag with a tail.

I am in the second category the reason why I carry a semi auto plyomer pistol aka a glock 19 is because it has always been reliable for me and that to me is very important in a gun fight also the lack of all kinds of external safety's is very nice if I'm fighting for my life and my gun won't shoot because I forgot to take the darn safety off well I have failed myself and my loved ones

There is NO WAY I would have guessed the number of 50+ guys on here nor the fact they mostly carry modern tupperware!

That being said I'm 42 and my EDC is a M&P 9C or my 3913. Most often its my well worn M&P 9C with over 10,000 rounds through it. Great pistol.

have been shooting pretty much everything I can get my hands on for 20 years. and have yet to find anything that caught my attention enough to cause me to bother to buy a non-1911 for myself. the CZ-75 keeps coming close, but hasn't bitten hard enough yet.

I carry a Smith & Wesson M642 in a Bob Mika pocket holster loaded with Remington Golden Saber .38 special +P 125 grain ammo, with a Bianchi speed strip loaded with 5 additional Golden Saber rounds. The gun resides in the right front pocket of my Wrangler relaxed fit jeans, with the speed strip residing in the front right watch pocket.

Works for me.
