Anyone else notice that the 50+ crowd outnumbers the other age groups (combined) by about 4%? I'm kinda surprised. I would have figured the 30-39 and 40-49 groups would have the largest numbers and the 21-29 group would be the smallest. Somewhat surprising that right now they each account for 14-16% of votes.

There is NO WAY I would have guessed the number of 50+ guys on here nor the fact they mostly carry modern tupperware!

That being said I'm 42 and my EDC is a M&P 9C or my 3913. Most often its my well worn M&P 9C with over 10,000 rounds through it. Great pistol.
While I can't speak for all the other 50+ on the forum. I will say that just because we're over 50 doesn't mean we're senile or dumb.

I currently am going with the modern polymer, but I sometimes change to modern steel, and often change to 1911/HP. Depends on the month.

21-29

I carry a variety of guns depending on what I'm feeling that day and or doing. Excluding my side arm for work, these are the usual suspects:

S&W 60 3" 357 or
CZ P07

Woods:
Glock 20 or
S&W 629

Also just picked up a Walther PPQ which will be retiring my P07 which served me well. Unless the HK P30 I put on layaway beats it to it.

I have changed from a PPP (pocket polymer pistol) to a S&W Model 22-4 AIWB carry most of the time. Occasionally the revolver is not feasible, so I go with the PPP.

I'm 78 and have carried a Browning HP since 1969, course in 69/70 I was carrying it in RVN.
IF I need a smaller pistol then I carry a Hungarian PA 63 (copy of Walther PP) in 9mm Makerov.
Sarge

Looking at the voting results; it is no surprise at all that, within each age group, most carry a "modern polymer semi auto".
And zero surprise that an overwhelming majority of we 50+ folk carry a "modern polymer semi auto". I would have been shocked at any other result.

I love my steel (and alloy) pistols, but I carry my lighter polymer framed pistols.

Age 64 and don't carry all that often but when I do it's usually a 4" S&W 686. If not the 686 then it's the Glock 19. I like both and they both work well for me.

I'm 40 and when I carry anymore, it's a 642 in my pocket. Prior to that it was a G19 IWB. Still happens every now and again, but not with as much regularity as in times past.

Biggest difference is not so much age, as I moved to a new town and am not allowed to carry at my new job.

51 yrs old and carry any of 5 different full size or cammander size 1911s. Springfields, Kimber, S&W E-Series, or Rock Island (best trigger ever on a factory 1911).
