I'm not normally a lucky person. I wasn't even looking for a gun when I found this at a garage sale. $1000, had to have it. Whats your best deal for 2012? Mods, move if this is in the wrong spot, thanks.

It's hard for me to pick just one so....

Stainless Steel Ruger Police Six chambered in .357 excellent condiiton for $325.
Sig 239 9mm with Hogue grips and Sig Nite Sights, used, in the box with paperwork and spare magazine for $425.

About to place an order for a new Kahr MK9 for under $450 via the NRA Instructor discount program.

Hard to say. There was a 4" Colt Python blue and rather minty for $1,300, A Colt Government Series 70 (early) Mark IV for $700 and another Colt Government Series 70 Gold Cup NM for $1,000 and both the Colt Governments show very little wear.

This is still 2012 and this afternoon I may look at a S&W Model 19 in a 6" barrel. The asking price is $400 but I have not handled the gun yet, it looks nice but looks can be deceiving. So this evening after work I'll know if I own that gun. :)

There were a few others but those were likely the buys I was most content with.

No brainer for me!
In a nutshell, a complete stranger, who had heard I was a "gun guy", got up with me where I worked and gave me two rifles, absolutely free, because his wife wanted them "out of the house". Said, "If you would take these off my hands, I'd appreciate it."
One was a Khyber Pass copy of the Martini Henry Calvary carbine.
The other was a Westinghouse Mosin!
I got $305 on GunBroker for the Mosin, the Khyber I still have.
I'll die of old age before something like that happens again!

That's a tough one as I purchased a Ruger 44 mag carbine for $350 and a S&W Model 610 for $500. Granted the 610 required an additional $200 in repair but all together thats still less than the going price for a S&W Model 610. So for 2012 I got some real deals but also picked up 2 model 17-4's, another 29-3 and of course my first BBQ gun which was my Christmas present to myself. It was a Talo Colt (the Ricardo) with all of the trimmings. All in all it was a good year for additions to my collection.
I can't wait to see what 2013 brings my way. Here's hoping everyone has a safe and pleasant holidays. Have a Merry New Year and a Happy Christmas

At a local auction I got a lee enfield ,royal Irish constabulary carbine ~700$ it's all matching ,original dust cover, chained mag, hand guard is intact ,proper cutoff ect. For a gun that only 8,000 where made I can't believe I found it at a local auction

C&R eligible S&W K-38 with a 6-inch barrel. Beautiful looking gun for $400 shipped to my door. Not bad considering there are no pawn shops or anybody with used inventory nearby.

Bought 5 tickets for a total of $20 for a raffle. Won a new Remington 887 Nitro Mag shotgun. Best deal I've had in a while.

My best deal this year has got to be the Ruger SR1911 I picked up for $550. I already had one, but I couldn't pass up that deal.

If you asked me last year it certainly would be my svt-40 for $225. This year I have to go with a clean Redhawk in .44 mag with 600 rounds of ammo for $500.

Had three this year: 1908 Colt Vest Pocket (1916) home made wood grips, no finish but no pits, either. Astra Cub in 22Short, 90%, needed a magazine and an Ithaca M37 DSPS 5-shot with the stock sawn off at the pistol grip. $125 each. Found a stock for the Ithaca in a box of stuff at the local gunsmith, $25, OTD.

For me it had to be a Ruger 10/22 sporter for $200 cash, it was in near mint shape came with a soft case, 3-9x scope and a couple of BX-25 magazines. I bought it from a guy in the parking lot at a local gun show (he and I were both giving up and leaving at the same time, and while walking to the car I asked about the gun he was carrying....

Per my post #6 an update. The best purchase of the year was that S&W Model 19-2 for $350. I was ready to pay the $400 asking price and as I always ask what is the best you can do? The guy said $350 and I said sold. He wanted cash for Christmas shopping. He was happy and I am real happy.

That should do it for 2012. :)

Remington Wingmaster, dirty as heck at a pawn shop for $150. Vent rib barrel, kills doves just fine, if I do my part.

Have one deal that started in 2012, but will finalize in 2013. Looking forward to that gun. :)

Bought 3 BP revolvers for $60. They all needed work but I sold one that didn't work for $80, sold the best one that was the easiest to fix for $100 and have the last one that I am planning on keeping but could sell it for $100 - $150 easy if I get bored with it.

Or it was the 4 unissued East German AK74 Bakelite magazines I bought for $20 when each one is worth $40 each.

I think I did pretty good. Always looking for a good deal. :)

I bought a S & W 629 for 400 and traded it for NIB Glock 19 with box, papers still wrapped up and 3 17 round clips. Pretty good deal for me since I can't shoot 44magnums anymore after wrist surgery.
