Nothing wrong with being bi-lingual.

I've never had a problem getting by with just English when I was there.

Also, the air has been cleaned up significantly by the smog laws there, and that's good for everyone. Not saying regulations aren't annoying.

Talk to an old timer and they will tell you the air sucked in the 60's and 70's.

Bi-lingual ? more like quad-lingual , I don't even run my CB when I'm on I-5 anymore , and I only go as far as WA and OR, and being Bi-lingual cost the state money , but CA don't seam to care , much like how they don't seam to care about the 2nd amendment

you're right clean air is good , but there EPA is way overboard , lead free bullets :banghead:, and a ton of other things that are off topic for this thread , but I will ad this , they're broke for a reason , just bad gov at it's best,

anyway my 3 gun pick would be ok there , but I don't think I would ever get use to pre-pay gas LOL :D

The lead free bullet thing is only for hunting in the condor zone. It doesn't apply for plinking or self defense. Or hunting outside the condor zone.

Sorry Purple, you are wrong. Read the law. Don't stop reading as soon as you see the word "Condor." You will find this:

"Except as provided in subdivision (j), and as soon as is practicable as implemented by the commission pursuant to subdivision (i), but by no later than July 1, 2019, nonlead ammunition, as determined by the commission, shall be required when taking all wildlife, including game mammals, game birds, nongame birds, and nongame mammals, with any firearm."

Signed into law by Gov. Brown.

The condor zone is just the immediate ban, not the limit of the ban. They have authorization to ban hunting with lead ammo tomorrow and a deadline in 2019. I have read that the ban may go in effect for the 2015 hunting season.

There isn't enough money to lure me back, and I'd divorce my wife if she ever even brought it up, but I'll play...
My S&W 438, Glock 26 and HK45.

I don't see where it says non lead for plinking or self defense. Only non lead for hunting, which to me seems to be no big deal. How many rounds do you use when you hunt? Not many, so a little extra cost seems a small price to pay, but maybe that's just me.

When I lived there it was limited to what I said previously. I've never lived there under Gov. Brown.

I lived there under his Dad. But as a teenager, and it was still quite wonderful then, in the early 1960's. At least to me! ;)

I'm thankful every day for all the folks who DON"T live in California - it's too crowded here as it is!

The number of handguns that are allowed on a CCW is up to the local LE agency that issues the permit. The Sheriff of my county allows 10, so I have three 1911s, glocks 23,26,30, and 36, a Shield 9, a Sig SP2022, and a S&W Airweight snubbie.

This change was recent, within the last 6 months. Before then, three was the limit - so I had a G30, a G26, and a G36 on it.

Do I dislike and work to change CA gun laws? Yes. Am I willing to pull up stakes and move elsewhere? No, as my family is all here. I can't afford to take them all with me. I have a great job, a nice house on 5 acres of oak trees, and beautiful weather. In spite of CA's gun laws, I have acquired a couple dozen pistols, rifles and shotguns over the last two years.

It really is.

My California house is on 2.5 acres, and it is beautiful, and I miss the place...but my quality of life is so much better now that I live in another state. This really has nothing to do with guns. Yeah, I can buy better guns for less money now, and I don't need to jump through as many hoops or pay as many state fees, but guns are a relatively small factor in my quality of life.

In fact, shooting was better for me in California. That's something a lot of people don't grasp. In CA I had some headache in buying guns, but I could head out into the Mojave desert and shoot whatever I had, at my own targets, in my own time, for nothing but the price of gas. I could bring a bunch of friends, an ez-up, and a portable grill and have a fun day. Here I must use a public shooting range, and pay, be surrounded by strangers...or buy 50+ acres of land somewhere. My house is just past the LA county border and when I lived there I would have had no trouble getting a CCW ... assuming you don't count getting 7 friends involved, writing letters for 3 of those friends to sign, going for interviews and certification, having my guns inspected, and paying hundreds of dollars as trouble ... but I didn't feel the need.

Get rid of about 20,000,000 people - the right ones - and I would return. Short of that, I'll continue going back a couple times a year but I'm not living there until some impossible-seeming changes happen...and I think they are impossible at this point. :(

It is beautiful, maybe I should stop talking about that so it doesn't get more crowded ;)
so are most of the western states , like UT , CO , MT , OR , but then again OR has some messed up laws there that would keep me from moving there too , like no barbed hooks for fishing , , and they don't even let you pump your own gas , yep it's a law ! the great thing about my job is that I get to go all over this great country , And if I had to move ,gun laws would be up there but not at the top of my list , but any state that wants to know what I have or tells me what ammo I may use , is a deal breaker , and for those that live there , keep up the good fight ,

oh and yes I have been to CA and yes out side of the cities it is beautiful

My county issues more permits than most - with one of the smallest populations. There is a lot of BLM land to shoot on less than an hour away, my grandkids are 45 minutes away (PERFECT distance!) and I'm 30 minutes to work. The Rockies are beautiful, but I prefer warmer winters. The wife and I ride Harleys, and it's pretty sweet to ride over to the beach (125 miles or so) for lunch, then put down the coast and take a different route home. A 300-mile day on the bikes, going from mountains to ocean and back, makes up for a lot of the stress involved in living in CA. And we can do that dozens of times a year.
I can shoot squirrels in the back yard and nobody cares. We have opportunities to bag raccoon, rabbit, bobcat, and occasiopnally mountain lions. Deer are a common sight in the heighborhood, but nobody shoots 'em. The grandkids came up on a Saturday at lunchtime, and three deer were grazing on the lawn, 20' from the front door.
Now if I had to live in the Los Angeles basin or the San Francisco Bay area, I'd take whatever I could load up and flee. Most of California isn't there - just most of the Californians are!
