Best all around all purpose cz?

That's a hard call and gets really gonna come down to what you want more. For me my all around gun is the cz 75(not sp-01) shadow for carry/range/comp.

For me the best all around CZ is the P-01. Great range gun, home defense gun, and concealed carry gun.

Can't go wrong with the P01 or PCR. If you want an all-steel gun get the Compact.

By the way, shot my PCR for the first time this weekend and love it. 200 rounds reliably-run and very accurate.

I don't think you can go wrong with any CZ.

If you like polymer I'd recomend the P 09. I have one and it's a great gun. 19 + 1 in 9 mm, de-cocker or safety, 9mm or 40 s&w.

All good choices.

This will be my next purchase. Just need to find one to fondle.;)

If you prefer steel, go with a standard 75B.

I agree with Baldman. You really can't go wrong with any CZ you find to buy. Right now, you'll mostly find the P series pistols. I have a P-09 and a P-07 and like them both.

The metal CZ 75 series pistols are also an excellent choice. Any initially rough triggers will smooth out with use and will be quite fine!

I'm going to get crazy here.

Most are going to suggest a 75 of one flavor or another. Which, is my favorite handgun overall.

However, I've recently fallen in love with another, I'm so ashamed. I suggest, rather highly, the CZ40B.

The way I understand it is that CZ did produce a DAO for short time. Probably dropped it due to poor sales.

REALLY confusing

Some sites list it as DA only - others DA/SA...And CZ- USA doesn't list it at all...If it was DA/SA for sure, I would buy one myself... :)

Well...as nice as it is

I would not want to spend that kind of money and then have to convert it...sigh...looked cool...and have read it shoots well...Onward...LOL

Well without seeing the internals I'm guessing its just the opposite of the Cz 75 SAO.

The SAO has no disconnector and only uses the hammer hooks I'm guessing the DAO has a disco but no SA hooks.

area51,

I have a P-01 and liked it so much, I traded one of my guns for a full size CZ 75 BD.

Both the above are decocker models. I'm used to decocker guns, so that's why I chose.

Otherwise, the standard CZ 75B with safeties are a good choice. If you are inclined to do your own internal work on them, the safety models are easier to work on. You have to manually decock these, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You still have the option to carry it cocked and locked, or to carry it with hammer down in a traditional DA/SA mode. The best part about CZ's is that you can not accidentally swipe the safety on while it is decocked. The saftey will not engage with the hammer down.

CZ 75B that has the Omega triggers are supposed to be very nice and easy to replace stock parts, but you don't have readily available modifications like the non-Omega guns can have.

So, it kind of depends on your preferences.

As the others have said, it just depends on what you want the pistol for.

As far as the newer guns are concerned, my pick would be the all-steel CZ 75 Compact (which some refer to as the 75B Compact), 9mm Luger.

For sheer fun - as well as a certain "shock and awe" factor - I love my vz.52, 7.62x25 Tokarev.

But the most accurate guns I own would probably be my two vz.82s, 9x18 Makarov.

As far as I'm concerned, it's hard to beat anything from Česká Zbrojovka. ;)

I would say a standard CZ 75b. But I much prefer all steel guns. I sold my 75 today and am picking up my new one, in glossy blue, on the 7th. I have 12 CZs and they are all good.
9 fingers

You asked: No one pistol can excell for all uses. Most can be "adequate" for most uses.
Range & comp.: Shadow versions or 'maybe' even the PO9'. They both excel with a few changes
Carry: Metal Compact

Buy a Canik S-120.

If you don't read the markings on the slide you'll think it's a CZ 75B with some trigger work.

Use the $100 you saved to buy ammo.
