All cops are human and make mistakes. Most aren't the azzholes many here make them out to be. Would I have "griped" at the officer? No, but I would have
politely asked him to control his muzzle. Odds are, he would have said he was sorry. IMHO, it seems the O.P. may have walked in front of the officers muzzle in order to get to the doorway.....but still, the muzzle should have been pointed down or up as the officer came thru the door. If it was his duty shotgun just taken from the car-rack, it very well may have been loaded. If it was a personal weapon and he was off duty, it should have been unloaded and in a case.
