...You name your child Kalashnikov. An aquaintence of mine did just that. It is the child's middle name.

Do you know anyone who has or have you given a child a gun realted name?

Do you know anyone that was delibrately named after something gun related?

I knew a kid back in high school named Colt. He claimed that he was named after Sam Colt.

Met a guy at a party coupla years back - announced he was a Federal Agent. I was impressed and asked to see his badge.

What he gave me was his business card ... it turned out he was a wholesaler for shooting consumables, which of course included the supply to stores of ''Federal'' primers!!

I promised not to burst his bubble if I could have some freebie primers - joking of course - darned if he didn't come up with a 1,000 when I saw him again a week later! :p I promised to keep quiet! :)

You all can judge me here on this one. Sometimes (though rarely) I wear sweat pants when just lounging around the house. So I get on my leather belt, one 12 round Triple K leather belt slide, and my pistol, and strap it all around my waist with a long shirt over the top.

"A leather belt and equipment with sweats??" You may ask. When it comes to my personal safety, I'm a bit touched in the head.

Do ya wear boots or slippers?

I'd be willing to bet that, if Levi-Strauss had made sweats, cowboys would have thrown on a pair after a hard day in the saddle. :D

When you are working at the library, processing new books and you put security strips on pages 9, 40, 45, 50, 223, 308, and 357.

:D

Wearing slippers myself right now. Floor gets a mite chilly. Still in street clothes though.

Not that anyone wants to know.

Though, if they did, there'd be nothing wrong with that. :D

I've found strings of numbers are easily memorized when parts of them remind me of familiar cartridge names (4570, 458, 454, 3855, etc.) or firearm model numbers (870, 4006, 4506, 336, etc.)
So I must truly be a gun nut!

When I'm driving down the highway and see exit numbers like 264, 257, 223, 308, etc, I'm thinking "good rifle calibers".

gun nut?

Staring at the gun cleaning kit on a Tuesday night and just deciding to open the jar of Hoppes to catch a wiff.

Watching the news and working on proper sight alignment on the anchor's nose.

See the page number 357 and a 125 grain hollow point comes to mind.

Tales of the gun is a favorite show on the History Channel.

Idea of an ideal first date is to have a picnic lunch at gun range.

While filling out the tax form, is it going to be a new .44 magum or .454 Casull purchase this spring?

Sheath needs to make a cologne.

Any time you go to a big box store, you always have to browse the sporting goods counter to see if any closeout deals are going on. Always buy ammo at each trip.

Think that western holsters make a nice clothing assessory.

Wish that there were more public ranges.

Didn't Ted Nugent name his son Rocco Winchester?

When I was younger I was a fan of old Cadillacs. I wanted to give my son DeVille for a middle name. My wife would have none of that. :p She said ir reminded her of Cruela DeVil from 101 Dalmations.

I gave directions once by calling exit 303 the British exit. What's scarier is a buddy of mine instantly understood me.
I also see numbers on signs, and think calibers and model numbers.
I knew a young lady years ago who named her two cats Mas and CorBon....
My son is named after my father and stepfather, and father in law....no gun names. Besides, would we write it CZ, or Ceezee....?

You might be a gun nut if, in spite of opposition from loved ones, friends, your lawyer, and others you decide to start a new ammuntion themed Italian restaurant named...

...The Ogive Garden.

...You name your child Kalashnikov

That is REALLY stupid. I don't suppose I could ever forgive my parents if they pulled that kinda crap. Of course I'd spend the $65 or whatever and change it to something way more desirable like 'Harry', 'Grover', 'Elmo', 'Curly', 'Ernie', 'Bert', or 'Lester'. I just don't see how you could sleep at night with such a stupid name. Now 'Krag' would be rather acceptable, even with the odd spelling.

DWS1117: Sorry about the nitpick, but the title should be You're a true gun nut if... not Your a true gun nut if...

I was driving yesterday, looked down at the clock: 3:35. That reminded me I nearly out of one of my favorite Hodgdon powders. So I changed course slightly and stopped at a nearby gun store.

But it still don't make me a gun "nut" :)

Regards.

I guess that you could say that my dad named me after the famous John Moses Browning. Just as grandpa Browning named him, and great grandpa Browning named him, and ... :)

You're a true gun nut if...

after you purchase your first Steyr from CDNN, you go out and find the three others to have a complete set of 9/40 M/S.

My last is on the way :)
