I want a Mossberg 500 with 18.5" barrel, 8+1 shot and folding stock (over top, not side) with pistol grip. Oh, it will be in the mariner finish.
First of all, why the Mossberg 500? Price and comfort. They fit my small frame nicely. A new black one is $259 up the road, the mariner is ~$300 used on Gunbroker.com.
This is going to serve as HD and range toy. Some posts over in 'shotguns' have me tempted to get 2; one for HD, one for 'playing.' Can't afford two right now so the one will do. (Perhaps later....)
The second 'next' gun will be either A) Replacing my Astra with a P99, or B) a .223 ~ .308 rifle, or C) a 10/22. We'll see after the Mossberg is in my hands.
Stainless Ruger Vaquero .44 in 4 & 5/8th" barrel. I need it to complete my CAS rig.
But if I wasn't playing, I'd be saving for a Barret .50BMG rifle. Long range target shooting is such a kick, and I hate politicos telling me I can't be trusted with one.
With a bunch in the pipeline, it's hard to define "next." I have a titanium Commander frame on order for a custom build. I'm drooling over a Benelli/WinSuperX2/FN shotgun for 3Gun, and a custom Gov't-size 1911 in 9x23/.38S for IDPA & IPSC Limited-10.
Either a Kimber of a loaded Springfield, and Colt's new 1911 or both. Problem is, I'm cheap and want to find them on the used rack. Can't believe I passed on a used Kimber for $600 last year.......I still kick myself. I was looking at ParaOrdnance's Para Carry, used, but that's not quite the ticket....
M48A, matching numbers and accessories. It's out of stock right now but the store I am buying from(Impactguns) expects more by June. Which is when I'll have the money to get one.
Winchester M70 w/ stainless steel barrel.
Beretta, I just love the butter smooth action.
If I had money I'd buy both at the same time. The next best thing is to talk about buying it, good idea on the thread
The list of wants is long, but looking at the needs it's either an EAA IZH-27 12 ga stackbarrel or a Marlin 1895 in 45-70. Which do I need to do worse, whack birds in flight, or provide insurance against large furry brown creatures that like to chew on my window sill?
