Pat--i scored your above targets to the best of my ability, and here are the scores:
#1 30
#2 23
#3 22
#4 25
If anyone scores these differently, you should probably go by their scores, more accurate i am sure.:D

Great shooting BTW!

Well, we finally got a good day to shoot the targets here in Virginia. This has been one of the worst Aprils in my memory. If it wasn't raining, it was too windy.

I was amazed at how hard the targets were to see at 25 yards with iron sights. After two false starts, I had to go back in the house and reprint the target with as much ink as the printer features could give me! Even then it was pretty much of a guess. I'm sure it's not my eyes - couldn't be! ;)

At 50 yards with a scope the target was no problem at all. The accuracy wasn't terrific, but not seeing the target was no excuse.

My scores:

First is with a Marlin 39AS
Williams Peep Sight
Lapua Multi-Match
One sand bag under foreend - no support at stock end.
25 yds.
Score: 23
Calm - 72 deg.

Second is with a Ruger 10/22T
Simmons 6x24 40AO
One sand bag under foreend - no support at stock end.
50 yds.
Score: 22
Calm - 72 deg.

If I had only adjusted the scope up one click, it could have been better - oh well. I'll try to shoot another target before the end of the month.

Good job, Mal H!

Here's at least a placeholder entry for me. This is a challenging target, once again! I score it a 23, and I felt I was shooting pretty well. But beware, I'm stimulating the economy once again. :D Since I shot this target last week, I've purchased a variety of new ammo, and ordered a new scope. I thought .22 LR was supposed to be inexpensive!!

GVNWST, where's your entry??!!

CZ 452
Federal 510 ammo
Bushnell 3x9
Sandbags
50 yds
Wind 5 - 10 mph, left to right, temp 65 deg
Score: 23

Right back atcha!

I'll bet if you had an Eze-Scorer, you would find that your score is higher. Often what looks like a miss is a clear touch when using the Scorer. Two of your shots very close to the center probably touch the dot, but you only scored them as a 1.

As an example, if you look at my targets - 2nd column, 5th row on both targets look like a miss, but they aren't.

If anyone does these matches and wants to really "know the score", they should invest in one of the Scorers. Depending on your eyes and the perverse nature of paper, almost always results in a lower score, rarely higher.

Well, this time i haev a excuse. First weekend of this month, i was at knob creek. The next one i was in Ohio at a LR shooting course. This weekend (today) i was at a CMP high power clinic in Oak Ridge TN. Maybe all this skill i get will make me win...:D:D:D:D:neener:

nice shooting you two!

I could not even see the targets. Just guessed that there are four rows and five across and spaced out the shots. Lost count of which row I was shooting too and shot one target twice. Lol. Had fun though.

First row = 1
Second row = 4
Third row = 3
Fourth row = 4
Fifth row = 4
Total = 16

hmm..it should be good weather friday, i will try to go out and shoot up the new target.

Nice shooting all! So far pat is in the lead...lets try to get some high scores, shall we?:p:D

Ummm...sure you can! Now, submit, that is another question entirely.....:D Unfortunatly, all my weekends this month have been taken up by other shooting related stuff, so i don't know if i will get a target in this month!:what: Tomorrow i go to a 3-gun match, amazingly enough, it is only like 30 minutes from my house. (considering i have to drive the same distance to walmart)

I just joined up and am really enjoying this forum! I'm going to the range tomorrow with my Winchester .22, so I'll print out a couple of these before I head out and post up my results!

I'm excited, I have maybe two friends in my town who like to shoot, so this forum was just what I needed.

Yes... sadly >_>

I did terrible, mostly because I couldn't see the little circles at 25 yds. I should have adjusted my printer settings, because the ink didn't turn out dark enough and I didn't realize it until I got to the range, which was indoors, so the lighting didn't help.

Oh well, I'll enter the one next month and make sure to print better targets.

How about a centerfire match? I could really get into that (once I get in a bit more practice in with my Remington 700).

Feel free to start one, just make sure it covers all centerfires. (the last one was bolt only, allowing semis would be a good idea, that way i can compete)

You're right about the target, deALPHAmale. If you don't print the target dark, they are extremely hard to see.

After I found that I just couldn't see the circles, I had the advantage of being able to walk back to the house and reprint the target so that it was slopping wet with ink!

It is a great target for the competition, but we didn't think about the visibility aspect at the beginning. If the outer ring could be made 2 or 3 times thicker, I think that would help.

Well, how about you guys pick a targtet for next month? Personally, i was able to see the targets fine, but thats just me...(maybe i do print them dark, i dunno, i never change settings on my printer)
