And he takes the lead!!! well, he was using a match rifle and ammo, so when i lose; oh wait, thats if i lose.., i won't feel so bad.:D And that is 50BTW.

Mal; i think he was making a joke because of his above post:
I'll kick any .17hmr's a$$ with my .22lr, and it's iron sights. Thats not arrogance it confidence! Iron to iron I'll whip it.
:D

60 points, no, the bottom left hole is not fully in the black.

Match or target, not really all that much different. At least as far as i know. Still better than a base model savage and bulk ammo...:D

It is 50 points I just went back and reread the main post. either way match or target I do have an advantage, but the rules do allow it. This has been one of the most fun things I have done. I wish I could get a live match going around here.

Mal H, I love the .17hmr and have a Savage Mako in .17hmr that I would love to compete with. If anyone wants to start a match with .17hmr I am in with one.

Maybe we can have three classes on here, one with .22's only, one with .22's and .17's, and one in .17's only. If I am still laid off in March ( which it looks like I will be ) I'll start the other two matches.

Thanks for leting me know that I made a mistake in my scoring. Here are a few pictures of my rifle.

No, I only use that for cleaning my rifles and shotguns. I used shooting bags. I would consider that cheating if someone used a shooting vise to compete in a competetion with.

Sorry to get off topic, but I love rimfires and had to share what I have.

Here are some pictures of my other two target rifles.

Winchester 75 Target. This gun has a 28 inch barrel. Dates 1948

Well good luck and hope I win, but I think it would be awesome if you can get a better score than me.

Come on, you really don't want me to get a better score:neener:

Hmm...we still need more people doing this, i am going to put it in my sig line, see if that draws any more particaption...
There, done.

Done deal, I have met several members from the The Highroad and all are good people. One guy that goes by the call name Freedom V taught me alot about competition shooting.

So if you ever make it to Iowa let me know and we will have a good time shooting all kinds of guns.

Here is a picture of my competition pistol, Ruger MKII Target with 10 inch barrel. dated 1990 or so.

Thats the last picture of my guns, sorry If I made anyone mad by posting off topic pictures on this post, but I love competition and wanted to share what I have with you all.

I really do want to win ( I would have bragging rights), but I think it would be awesome for some one to get a higher score.

If I knew how to add this competition to my signature I would add it also. If anyone know how to tell me send me a pm on how. I'll ask the wife and see if she can tell me.

im gonna put eletrical tape over my old targets so i can reuse them, or go to the library and print some new ones out, but i may scrounge a bit of ink outta my printer yet

clint c, how many tries that take?

i am thinking of pulling my scope and trying for irons at 25 yds in hopes of a better group size next too

my next pic is gonna be a 75, jus maybe not this month lol

That was number four, but I misunderstood the rules and could have used some of the earlier targets.

Even though I was using the gun and sights that I used, it was still tough as heck to get the score I did. I couldn't see the bottom dots. I think the black squares made it harder.

I have only had this gun for two weeks and just bought the Winchester 75 last saturday. Now I don't have a job and all the time in the world to shoot them. I have to get the baby's room done this week though.

Who is actually mediating these matches?? gvnwst???
This one; i have no clue. I am just on a lot and can awnser the questions.... I try to get the others to help, as i don't want to take over a thread i didn't start.

When are you going to shoot the new browning? Can't wait to see what kind of scores you can get with it.

Sorry to get of topic again.

I tested this target with my .17, scoped at 50 yards. It was too easy. I am going to start a .17 cal. competition on here for the month of March and will go either 75 yards or 100 yards, maybe more depending on what you all think. Any sugestions would be great. Same rules different Cal.

Hope this is ok with the THR owners, and moderators, or whoever it concerns.

I agree that the match should be at at least 75yd, but since most people (that i know anyhow) who have a 75yd range have a 100yd range.....might as well make it a bit harder.

The things are amazing!

If I get a chance I'll shoot one tomorrow. I can tell you right now what it will look like, one hole in the center of each black dot.

In the wind the 22's have zero chance against the 17's. Granted the guns were equally accurate, even if the 22 was far more accurate, 22's would still be fighting a very uphill battle. Physics doesn't lie.
