good shooting guys.

jbh, that one with the ? looks like its making contact, at least best i can tell.

the dark lead ring definitly makes contact with it.

i would think that diamond would be a 7 also.

of course if i had 61pts it would unfortunately be a miss >:)

Went out today to better my bench score & try the 4 position.
I couldn't do worth a dang with the Win. 69a & was running out of the "good" ammo, so I pulled out the box-stock Erma EM1 22.
I had just enough ammo for these last two targets.

Both shot 25 yds with the '69 Erma EM1 22.
Military aperture sights.
CCI Std. Vel. Target ammo.
Temp. 102, wind calm.
4 position shot with sling support.

I'll let someone else score them. Not the best, but may get me on the board behind otrman.

Okay, sorry for the delay in scoring (still really busy)...
Hud--I score the standard target as 53, one miss on the bottom left bull, but the top right one, all are in the black.
The 4-position target i have as 48.
Sound about right?

Judah Ben-Hur--agreed on 62.

ortman--I score your target as a 75 too, great shootin!

I tend to agree with you Walter. I also have trouble seeing the small black dots or squares with irons at 25 yds. Probably wouldn't be as bad with a scope at 50, but my range is not curently set up for 50, so I have to shoot at 25 with irons.

Downloadable targets in color might be a problem with some guys who may not be able to print in color, not to mention ink being expensive.
The Birchwood Casey targets could be a good solution, as they make several types.
Below are some that I use. Stick-on, bright orange, black bull with a ring & quadrants. (I've used all the 2.5")
They come in packs with 3 sizes, 2.5", 2", & 1", and could be placed on a plain sheet of paper in what ever number & arrangement was agreed upon.
Scoring to be determined by gvnwst.

Yikes! Where has July gone??!!

And double Yikes!!! There has been some fantastic shooting going on!!

I may be able to sneak out tomorrow after work for some range time. Earlier this month I tried out some CCI Green Tag in my CZ 452, and the results were disappointing and surprising. Just very inconsistent. My rifle doesn't seem to like them. If I can get out, I'll try again with the Federal 510s that I have.

Hud--I would go with that target, but I've been trying to avoid making people buy targets (some might have to order online, ect). If everyone is okay with doing this, lets use the ones you suggest. Not sure about placement or size though, thats up to you guys. :D

For scoring, how about 3 points for the black bull, 2 for the orange inside the black circle thing, and 1 for the orange outside that. Sound good? (possibly a bonus for completly in the black bull again too...?)

gvnwst,
In all fairness, I would like to see some suggestions from the other regular shooters. I just ran that one up the flagpole to see if anyone would salute.
You could just let it soak for a few days & if there are no responders, we will just have to eat whatever is put on our plate.

OK, I made it to the range today, with one day to spare ;).

50 yds
CZ 452 with Weaver 3-9 AO scope
Federal 510 ammo
Benchrest with sandbags
90 degrees, wind calm

I score this target as a 61.

I have no problem with the targets Hud suggested except all I have seen locally are the 1",2", and 3", no 2 1/2". I'll shoot at what ever target(s) you come up with gvnwst.

RATS! Foiled again! :banghead:
Good shooting there Mustang!

otrman, the large targets probably are 3". I had used them all & was working from my limited memory. I think I need more RAM....

Come on, Hud. I've seen your marksmanship and I know you can shoot. Squeak one in tomorrow!! :)

Ya feel better now?
That's some good shooting, Walter! :) Gotta love those 60's.
You might be able to better your scores with different firewood...maybe oak?

Well, looks like this has been un-stickied. Anyone got some last minute target suggestions? Otherwise, I can just make the next match with the same targets...
Great shooting ya guys, I hope this is continuing to be fun! :D
