The one thing that's preventing your favorite from being perfect: What is it?

Kimber Det-1.

No threaded NDT Government barrel though the Colt's works just fine. And, I keep forgetting to put an arched MSH on prior to any given shooting event. I'd like to drill&tap it for the Dawson rail as well.

For me, it's the Makarov PM, and its Euro-style heel magazine release.
Though my 52s aren't my favorite - but highly favored - I agree with the heel latch.

I have 4 VZ/CZ52s and one slow winter I'll convert one to a 1911 style release just for the hell of it.

That and a threaded 9mm barrel and slim rail would please the hell outa me.

This one is not mine - merely what I'd like to copy.

1911. Frame doesn't fit flush with arched MSH. No frames without grip safety.

Cz75 SA, TSO, TS2. SA trigger and guard too large because it's the DA/SA based frame.

J Frame, chiefs special. As painful to shoot, as punching a brick wall.

Hold your nose for this one...
Glock 20 slide on a g29 frame.

Whew... I know . it's been done and frames have been cut and mutilated . even a g36 frame with a 4.5" barrel in 10mm, perfect carry gun. a factory gun like that would get my money for sure, probably not interested in a franken-carry gun.

Every single gun I own has a long list of things that could be improved. In fact, the ones I trust the most, probably have the longest lists because I've spent more time and effort learning about them and using them than the others.

I don't think it's impossible to build a perfect firearm (or one that's so nearly perfect that it doesn't really matter), but I do know that there are not many people in the world who could afford one if there were such a thing.

For me, it's the Makarov PM, and its Euro-style heel magazine release. What one feature is keeping one of your favorites from being perfect?
I have many favourites, depending on where I am going, what I am hunting, or shooting at, or the conditions.
That I have many favourites, for different conditions, different tasks, explains my frustration... none of them is perfect for everything!!
:confused::cool::D:rofl::neener:
My 'favourite' changes from week to week, depending what's happening. And I keep finding some 'little' thing I can change, or improve.

The one thing that's preventing your favorite from being perfect: What is it?

Another company already coined the phrase??

Jokes...

True perfection for me, would require an amalgamation of several different pistols.

I dislike that the smooth trigger pull on my K6s is ruined by the cylinder latch springing up against the cylinder, and then clicking into it's notch as you pull back the trigger. During the trigger pull you get this loud "CLICK...CLICK....BANG" which makes it feel like a weird 3 stage trigger and none of my other revolvers have this.

I also wish my Browning Buckmark's magazines had more than 10 rounds! Although that's still better than my Ruger MKI.
