I'm interested in a North American Arms Sidewinder. My gun dealer said there aren't even any available for him to order. Impactguns.com and budsgunshop.com don't have them either. The only place I've seen one for sale was gunbroker.com and they wanted $600. Does anyone know how to get one of these? Are they always this hard to get? I know its hard to get guns in general right now, but this is a single action 22 for petes sake!

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Phin

If you were on NAA forum when they came out you got the chance to buy one in their early bird offer, only 500 first run (I believe) everyone else must wait for the full production to begin, but don't feel too bad some of the first run still has not reached the buyers yet, and they were supposed to get them all delivered months ago. You never know when glitches may show up so I don't blame them for the delay, but I would'nt expect to see any at retail for quite some time.

Thanks for the info. I didn't even know there was a North American Arms forum. I'll have to check that out. I was able to get onto gallery of guns and sign up to get an email when they get more in stock at Davidson's. I hope they don't go the way of the Ranger. These look like really neat guns and I'd really like to get one!

I would not count on it ever being cheap or easy to get. They made a top break one also. Go on gunbroker and look at the prices for that model.

Unless they ramp up the numbers of the ones they are making, I would expect it to have the same fate as the top break

Make sure to get on there ASAP after you receive that e-mail. I have set that alert several times, and the guns disappear really quickly, sometimes before I even have a chance to check the site.

I just ordered a North American Mini-Master with 4" barrel in .22 Magnum. I don't like the others because barrels are so short, both the ballistics and accuracy are terrible. With 1-5/8" barrels, .22LR and .22 Magnum have identical ballistics. The 4" barrel however allows the .22 Magnum to develop over 1400 fps. About what .22 Magnum out of a rifle does at 150 yards. If the .22 Magnum from a rifle with blow up a squirrel to bad to use the meat at 150 years, I figure the NA Mini-Master 4" in 22WMR would do a job on the human brain at 15 to 20 feet with a gun as accurate as this one (sub 2" barrels are bad for that too). At that range, the brain is not a tough target. I'm getting this to use as a concealed carry from an ankle holster. I just couldn't imagine that even a small frame semi-auto would be anything but REALLY uncomfortable sitting down for dinner or drinks with that thing down your pants of underneath your arse. Even though technically a 'Mouse gun', one of these trumps two 45s that you left at home or out in your glove box when you need it. One nice thing about REALLY concealed carry is having the element of surprise. Allows you to look unarmed and leave the gun in the holster until YOU decide the time and range is right. The new laser sight by Laserlyte that fits this gun might be a worthwhile addition, for intimidation if for no other reason. Might not have to fire.

I've owned a .22 mag NAA for about thirty years and it is a perfect pocket gun for an "in your face" backup to a real gun. I can't say much more about one. The breaktop and swing out cylinder models are "fad" guns. If you find yourself in a position to have to reload one in the heat of battle you're already screwed.:)

I bought one of the Early Birds, and honestly unless you want a range toy or collectible, you're better off just buying a Pug or Black Widow. The swing-out cylinder is not particularly fast to reload and casings only eject about 3/8" (one of which will hit most grips unless you manually clock the cylinder). The cylinder pin is also a little tricky to get used to, and due to the size you'll probably end up burning your finger tips on the barrel while releasing the cylinder if you shoot more than a couple cylinders full of 22 mags. As usual the quality is very good and accuracy surprising.

I saw one of them last weekend. I believe he still has it in stock. V.o.w. in cleveland TN
good luck

Same here. I think they often get popular guns in only one or two at a time, and these often seem to be sold within seconds of email announcements. Even bore the current panic, I saw two dozen Ruger Mk III pistols disapear off of Davidsons website in less than 10 minutes. :what:
