I just ordered a North American Mini-Master with 4" barrel in .22 Magnum. I don't like the others because barrels are so short, both the ballistics and accuracy are terrible. With 1-5/8" barrels, .22LR and .22 Magnum have identical ballistics. The 4" barrel however allows the .22 Magnum to develop over 1400 fps. About what .22 Magnum out of a rifle does at 150 yards. If the .22 Magnum from a rifle with blow up a squirrel to bad to use the meat at 150 years, I figure the NA Mini-Master 4" in 22WMR would do a job on the human brain at 15 to 20 feet with a gun as accurate as this one (sub 2" barrels are bad for that too). At that range, the brain is not a tough target. I'm getting this to use as a concealed carry from an ankle holster. I just couldn't imagine that even a small frame semi-auto would be anything but REALLY uncomfortable sitting down for dinner or drinks with that thing down your pants of underneath your arse. Even though technically a 'Mouse gun', one of these trumps two 45s that you left at home or out in your glove box when you need it. One nice thing about REALLY concealed carry is having the element of surprise. Allows you to look unarmed and leave the gun in the holster until YOU decide the time and range is right. The new laser sight by Laserlyte that fits this gun might be a worthwhile addition, for intimidation if for no other reason. Might not have to fire.
