.444 Marlin, or 45-70

Well...I picked up a 22" Marlin 444S, real good clean, raised rings, and a cheap 2X bushnell scope for $575... Not the 444P that I was hoping...but I may get another, and sell the one I decide to.

I was hoping ODNR would stay with cartridges designed for handguns and not go crazy with rifle cartridges.

How about we not offer them any more words of regulation, leave it in the hands of those actually using the tool in the field, and trust the hunters to make the right call for the situation?

Oh.. wait.. actually trusting the "common" folk...

The OP's question has been answered, I hope. It would be my guess that we all know that either of these caliber's will kill a deer, I'm surprised the OP didn't have the knowledge to come to the same conclusion. What I can't understand is why would the OP wish his state would enact more stupid laws for the people of that state to have to live with. Maybe I'm wrong, but it is my feeling we have enough laws. The more laws we have the less freedoms we have...
