$5K burning a hole, what pistol would you buy?

America is crumbling. But I just watched a Lambo Merc drive past my parked brand new truck. Kind of a weird perspective.

Op: Also consider Guncrafter Industries for a single stack.
Oh heck yeah! A one off could be amazing! I don't get a lot of todays economy and people. No one wants to work, prices are getting more and more ridiculous, and spending is more than ever?

Here’s a few hypothetical $5K purchases that I would do…. In no particular order

- Les Baer UTC in 45, some Wilson ETM mags, and bulk ammo. Or two Les Baers, because more.

- Nighthawk Custom Trooper in 45, rest on mags and ammo

- Alchemy Custom Prime in 45, rest on mags and ammo

- A Langdon or Wilson Beretta or maybe one of each

That’s just a few off the top of my head. I’d be absolutely stoked to have any of em.
Yurp! Gotta agree even though I not sure what two of those are/ Alchemy Custom and a Langdon?

I stand by my initial post as it did include a Dan Wesson 1911 and is reflective of what I'd do with 5k - if I didn't have those guns (I do).
I've got a Ed Brown Special Forces (most expensive handgun I own) and a Dan Wesson Valor (2nd most expensive)

If you want a single approximate 5k handgun, here ya go:

10mm with integral compensator and you still have enough $$$ left for one of the guns (other than the DW) on my initial post.
I would like a Dan Wesson or an Ed Brown. Very nice!

Alchemy produces really nice 1911. They’re connected with Cabot, I believe.

Earnest Langdon is a Beretta shooter and he owns Langdon tactical. His company puts out some high end, modified Beretta models. Similar to what Wilson Combat puts out with their Beretta models

I find it odd that there's not a big issue with the conversion of Glocks to FA.

??? What exactly are you asking?

Glock didn't come to America until Jan 1986. May 86 is when the machine gun registration ended. If there are any 18's in the registry I would be surprised. There are plenty of dealer samples though.

Great shots! Would you mind coming over and cleaning a few of my bang buddies

It's that Glocks can be made to fire FA without a ton of skill.

I'd get a nice for the money 1911 like a Springfield Mil Spec in the lords caliber, 45ACP. Then buy a bunch of Mec-Gar 8rd mags, and a bunch (1Krds each to start) of 230gr JHP and FMJ ammo, along with reloading dies, primers, and powder. Then keep the rest of the money for emergency use such as a new hot water tank for your house or a transmission for you car or something lol... But for real, you are free to spend it on what ever you want, but us enablers on THR are just going to get you to spend it faster than you would normally, haha.
