this is a news article about a man who had his gun snatched from his holster, and was shot to death with his own gun.

I don't open carry except maybe when I'm hunting. This is one reason why.

Here is an article about a man that was beaten to death with his own flowerpot:

What precautions should we take against this happening?

And, while it wasn't the victim's own umbrella:

We can learn several things from that one. First, there should be laws that make it illegal to posses an umbrella over 18 inches long when fully extended before the canopy is opened, or that opens with the assistance of a spring. Umbrellas with points at the top should be illegal, only blunt tops allowed. Umbrellas should be carried fully concealed - only after passing a background check and obtaining an umbrella permit, though. And if you do decide to give up your element of surprise - make sure that you have umbrella retention training and at least two methods of retention - a wrist strap and a lanyard are highly recommended. And it should be illegal to possess any umbrella that has ever affected or moved in interstate commerce within 1000' of a school.

But you'll be shot first and have you gun taken from you and people will run from you screaming and the police will shoot you on sight and you'll never be able to leave the house for fear someone might see your gun!

How do you live with yourself?
We need to give him a break. He is willing to risk his own skin to help others. This is very admirable behavior seldom seen anymore.

I've already long staked out my claim in the CC camp's side of this THR debate, but the devil's advocate in me wants to ask if anyone knows offhand of verified instances of a CC'er having their gun taken from a concealed holster and used against them (obviously, there would have to be some sort of concealment failure moment, such as a grappling situation, etc...).

I'm sure it's happened, and I'm also sure that it was a by-product of a scenario already in play, as opposed to the gun being an instigating factor.

Just curious.

That is when one uses BUG against them.

So.... if I can find you one story of someone killed by a falling icicle then you'll all start wearing helmets?
