I don't need any AP ammo but I sure would love to get a copy of Oro's M27 with the 3.5-inch barrel. I had one in nickel years ago. Only thing I did to it was add a Tyler T-Grip. That was one sweet-shooting gun!

Yeah maybe you feed the bad guy some dinner too while he is trying to murder you and your family. I think you should shoot to stop a threat, the best way to do that is for the threat to stop breathing. You don't shoot to maim or break a rib you shoot to stop an attack all the way.

Mags, The shock of a 12 gauge 3 inch slug, or .50 Beowulf IS enough to kill the assailent. There are documented insidents were men wearing armor are hit with a 12 gauge slug, and it does not penetrate, but the shockwave destroys the chest cavity.

I think the Constitution is clear about the true meaning of the 2A: defense against tyranny by the gov. If the gov has bullet proof vests, then so should we and we should have bullets that defeat those vests.

I'm with Steve on this one. Can't forsee a reason to have AP ammo myself except that if it's good enough for the feds and we're paying for it it's good enough for us and we should be able to obtain it legally if we want it. It seems to me that the purpose of the 2nd was to allow us the means to over throw the gov't if needed. Kinda hard to if your out gunned so why shouldn't we be allowed to have AP and fully auto without jumping through hoops of fire to get it.

For those who think the police should have done headshots at North Hollywood, let's see you make a head shot form 40-50 meters while a guy shoots a machine gun at you. One of the bad guys shot himself in the head and a police round hit his spine at the same time. No dought the police were a lot closer to him after he droped his jammed AK. THe second guy was shot multiple times in the leg/foot under the car. Headshots are very nice, but the footshot was safer, since bad guy #2 was shooting drum-fed M16 thing.

This is a very profound point. This Country was founded in part, due to Tyranny. In forming this great nation, our fore fathers understood that big government can equal Tyranny.

It was their intention, in creating our founding documents, to ensure that the people/citizens, can always have the ability and means to take the country back should they ever become oppressed again.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

In my small minded, backwoods reasoning, very conservative opinion, the right to bear arms is not talking about the right to form an army as some people believe. It talks about the Militia. The militia is the civillian's ability to rise up in time of need, to band together, and ensure the security of a free state.

In the amendments description of the militia as being "well regulated", it is implying that the militia is not a small group of rebels causing terror. Instead, it is the people rising up and throwing off the burden of tyranny that can oppress the people, when the government gets too big.

As one member of this forum states in his signature line, "tyranny is when the people fear the government, freedom is when the government fears the people."

With the increase of gun control laws, and limitations of the ammunition you can purchase/own, our politicians are limiting our ability to ensure the security of a free state. If the military has machine guns, so should the citizens.

Of course, there will always be people to argue their own opinions, but there's my two cents.

If I really need to put someone down I have 3 bandoleers of 30-06 AP in 8 round M-1 Garand clips. But normally I would just go for the head with my 226 357Sig.

i have to agree with this. retun fire can definately have a negative effect on an otherwise proficient shooter's accuracy LOL

i also have to guess that the N.H.W. shoot out would not have lasted so long, in my area. several random "Bubbas" would've had long guns (probably scoped) handy.

zignal zero - then move out to 100 - 150y and use a scope. Even I could do those shots and I'm not a great shooter. I also would be so far out of "sight" because most people aren't looking for a threat 100-150 y out when they have the cops they are trying to pin down 20y in front of them. Actually, most any rifle COM probably would have worked unless they had plates in the vests.
