Been thinking to get a stainless 10 mm other than Glock. Any suggestions for an accurate and reliable full sized weapon? I really like 44 mag revolvers
What else qualifies (steel, 15 round mag) other than a Bren Ten or Tanfoglio Witness? So for all intents and purposes, you have one choice: a Witness. I have a 10mm "WonderFinish" Witness -- no complaints, it's a right nice gun. The WonderFinish looks like stainless, but it's not actually stainless steel. 15 round magazines are easy to get now that the ban has expired. 10 round magazines can be easily modified to 15 rounds, although the modified mags limit your OAL a bit.
If you like 44 mag revolvers, there's always the S&W 610. It's full sized, it's stainless, but it ain't 15 rounds.
Having owned a Witness, it probalby won't meet your accuracy expectations if you are shooting one of the better .44 Magnum revolvers now. With the right magazines the one I had was reliable, though. They are soft shooters with good ergonomics and decent, but not great, triggers.
Just a personal opinion, I think the best platform for a 10mm in an autoloader is a properly set-up 1911. But those are expensive, and not just any gun-plumber can do them right. Also, unless it is an STI/SV, you only get 8-10 rounds.
I would look at the Para 40 cal Limiteds. Very nice pistols from what I have seen. The conversion is not that big a deal. Have a smith ream the stock barrel's chamber out to 10mm length, change out the recoil spring and maybe install a flat bottomed firing pin stop. An AFTEC extractor wouldn't hurt either. I have a single stack thus converted that I use for duty carry. I believe that the Para would have to be run with 45 mags, I don't know for sure if the 40 mags are big enough for the 10mm's additional cartridge length. If so, you would probably have to tweak the 45 mag's lips a bit to get it to feed right.
ETA: I guess the SV/STI "grip" is technically plastic, but shouldn't be considered in the same category as a Glock. If you really want all metal, look at a double-stack Caspian frame.
The magazine capacity of the Bren Ten was only ten rounds. Bob Serva of Dan Wesson (which has been bought by CZ-USA), has been putting out 'feelers' concerning a CZ97B in 10mm, but even if it does become reality it'll probably be a while before you see one on a dealer's shelf.
