Title speaks for itself. Personally, I have quite a few but I'll only list what I consider to be the two biggest.

    1. Poor muzzle/trigger discipline: Now I'm not saying I'm gonna flip out over this, especially if it's by someone who's relatively new to firearms nor am I saying that I haven't caught MYSELF slipping once or twice, but it's still a big pet peeve of mine. I don't care if the firearm is loaded or not, I'm of the opinion that if you develop the habit of handling an unloaded firearm in this manner, it's only a matter of time before you start doing it with one that's loaded

    2. Preachy Wannabe RSOs: These are the people who aren't RSOs, yet try to act like one. NEVER fails to call you out on something you did that wasn't necessarily "unsafe" yet gives you a snotty attitude while calling you out on it. Almost always has some type of egotistical demeanor and never fails to make you feel like an idiot. Also, they make you wonder if they've ever heard of common sense instead of what they've read in a book as it relates to firearms handling.

Honorable Mention: People who shoot often yet only clean their guns once a year.

    1. Being swept.

    2. AR dumps at indoor ranges.

    3. People who blatantly and obviously lie about their firearms.

    4. Guys who take their girlfriends shooting with guns above their ability, with minimal instruction, and then laugh when they get hurt.

    5. People who leave their trash at public ranges. Also people who shoot furniture, tv’s and appliances at public ranges.

Yeah , the ROs who get on a power trip are off putting.
Big one for me is revolver etiquette, guys spinning cylinders and flipping them shut- makes my skin crawl. Folks handling a single action can be painful to watch as they flinch while yanking at an uncocked guns trigger and lowering hammers from half cock also makes me squirm.
Muzzle discipline is of course the worst but that will only happen for as long as it takes for me to physically correct it and a lecture will follow.

People calling a certain brand of gun crap. Especially when it’s a generally high quality brand like Glock, S&W, Ruger, etc. Just because they don’t like it or can’t shoot it doesn’t make it bad.

Bad muzzle/trigger discipline is my biggest pet peeve but can usually be easily and politely addressed.

Closely followed by the mentioned self righteousness some gun people have, not necessarily RSO/RSO wannabe but more of the "I have a gun therefore I'm the expert."

It's also annoying when people spread exaggerated myths like they're gospel. Mostly related to the venerable ought-six or .45 auto. Or the classic "a near miss with a 50BMG can kill". Those are usually entertaining to imagine though so they get a pass.

On the other hand, people calling other people "____ haters" (fill in the blank) just because those other people don't happen to be as big of fans of a "certain brand" of guns as they are.;)

As long as they're safe I couldn't care less. I've heard so much BS in my life I can generally tune it out. Earmuffs help.

We have quite a few of those on this site- You aren't serious about defense unless you carry a high-capacity 9mm polystriker (with a trigger job & RDS) in a kydex IWB holster 100% of the time when leaving the house.

I’ve got some pet peeves about firearms, but this seem to more about pet peeves about people.

No one’s perfect so I’ll keep my stone in my pocket.

There are a few obvious ones: poor safety skills, magazine/clip labeling, caliber debates...

I have a few other specific ones

    1. I cannot stand it when somebody mounts iron sights in any way other than absolutely as far apart as possible. Every once in a while you'll see somebody mount his rear flip up sight in front of his optic... It just bothers me when people have their irons closer together reducing their sight radius.

    2. I also hate it when people mount red dot sights near the rear of the upper receiver on an AR. You mount that red dot the furthest forward on the upper receiver as possible.

I know it's all personal preference, but still...

I have a few that have been covered so I will not post them.

One that sets me free are loudmouth know-it-alls (or obnoxious online posters) that really just know enough to be dangerous and they spread ignorance and misinformation and will battle frantically when confronted.

Another is “Snobs”. I despise snobs, regardless of what their snobbery is about.

MOST folks who speak in absolutes typically don't know much, their mouth doesn't stop long enough to learn anything and if they hear something they don't understand it's dismissed just as quick.

I hear ya. Drives me nuts! That and bringing up the fact that they shoot IDPA to do the same. Save all that for the competition thread.

This has got to be number one for me. Seems like a power trip. It makes me cringe to watch.

I would love to say something, but that would just make me some “RO on a power trip”. So as long as they keep em pointed downrange I keep my mouth shut.

Those are two big ones for me.

Ive never seen 4 in person, but im not sure i could let it slide. Male or female, you just dont do that crap to someone new.....
Now amongst friends who have been shooting for a while, if you scope bite yourself or manage to put a 3" shell in middle of a stack of 2 3/4", you bet im gonna laugh at you.....after i make sure the bleeding isnt serious....might even take your picture.
BOTH of which i have witnessed.

5 is every time i go to one particular shooting spot. I have 55gal trash bags in my range bag, mostly just for that spot.
