Bond Arms--Do they need more calibers?

i briefly had a new b.a. stinger rs 22lr. its geometry simply didn’t feel right in my hand, even after swapping out wider grips from the original model. its rough/rowdy finish was similarly ill-machined as my late roughneck 357/38: the barrel lever tightened, and was unopenable with a simple thumb movement, after firing rounds, so away went the stinger rs too. “burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me.”

my several original gen2 b.a. derringers are fine.

Contact Bond Arms. I would think they want the gun to be right.

Bond has a 3" barrel in .30 Carbine. That might be a fun one, but getting ammo looks like it might be as difficult as for a .41 Magnum revolver.

been there, done that. the first one cost me shipping & ffl both ways after a frustrating 40 minute conversation with a reluctant c.s.r. she finally got hold of a gunsmith at b.a. who authorized the warranty repair. it returned with a smoother barrel lever but still noticeably stickier than my gen2 original b.a. derringers. i then discovered at a shooting range session that it wouldn’t accept interchanging all my other b.a. barrels. by the time i added up the aggravation and actual costs i realized that i had entered gen2 original price territory.

don’t get me wrong, i do like b.a. derringers, but the cheapened manufacture of the rowdy/roughneck version doesn’t work for me at all. ymmv, i hope.

Just read through this whole topic. Very informative discussion on the Bond derringers.

Has anyone tried to order a replacement barrel recently? I was disappointed to see that the barrels are no longer sold on their website, and they must now be ordered through a dealer. Most of the online dealers seem to be out of stock at the moment. By "dealer" do they mean any LGS in their dealer network can order barrels for you?

Give BuckSnort Outfitters a try. They do stock many of the barrels that are currently made

After reading through this thread, I'm seriously considering picking up a Bond Arms with a couple of barrels. I'm even working on justifications that are starting to sound like they make sense.
....
Dang. THR really is full of crazy enablers. :D

Make sense???
I can't understand why everyone doesn't have a pocket shotgun

You got it right. Everyone needs a Bond and three barrels. I have two barrels, so still need to do some shopping. Just trying to figure what barrel for my third. Have .45Colt/.410 and .38Spl/.357Mag so far. A .32 ACP would be nice but they don't make one. .45 ACP is also tempting.

Not the point of the question.
I don't know that I necessarily want to see one but I suspect we'll see a .30 Super Carry eventually. If they do a Stinger or a Stinger barrel in .32 ACP I'll likely convince myself I need one, even though it wouldn't be suitable for an El Presedente drill or defense against the marauding swarms of ne'r-do-wells that we all encounter on a daily basis. (of course neither is my M6 Aircrew or my Colt 3rd Model Dragoon, but I think I'll keep them anyway)
LGS has had a Smith & Wesson in .30 Super Carry since it came out. No one even looks at it.

i am becoming recoil-challenged. a 327/32 barrel is nice, as long as you can find 32long ammo. 380acp is pleasant and ammo price/availability isn’t half-bad.

Bond Arms website lists the following available calibers for their double barrel handguns (Derringers):
.22 LR
.380 ACP
9mm
10mm
.30 Carbine
.38 Special
.357 Magnum /.38 Special
.40 S&W
.44-40
.44 Special
.45 Colt/.410
.45 ACP
.45 Colt
.327 Fed Mag
.357 Sig

Is there another caliber you wish they would include in the selection? I for one think that a .32 ACP would be nice.
50 BMG for the lolz.

I see the 3-inch barrel is available in .30 Carbine. I could go for that. Ammo is a bit scarce though.
So how would .30 Carbine compare to .357 Magnum for recoil and pain in the hand? Or .45 ACP? Or what would it compare to? Am I going beyond my limit to get a .30 Carbine barrel? .357 is so nasty in a Bond I don't want to shoot it anymore and I need the larger grip to keep shooting the ..45s (Colt or ACP).

This calculator should give you a rough idea. I say rough idea as you'll need to guess at the velocities from the short barrel.
