Budsgunshop.com shipping restrictions

Perhaps. But as has been pointed out earlier, that doesn't stop hundreds of FFL's and private sellers all across the country from doing so every single day without issue.

We're not asking Bud to expose himself to anything that he isn't already exposed to every day in the gun business. In fact, we're practically begging him to allow us to give him our money! What in the world is wrong with that!

I fear for how long their business would actually last.

He's obviously been in business for more than a week, so he couldn't be doing that bad.

Forgive me, I must have msunderstood since a good part of this thread was in reference to MD specific issues.

My post didn't say "he can choose not to ship to MD" I said:

Why go through all that hassle to ship there when you

There is not MD, so I don't see how you misunderstood.

I didn't see your post from a month ago so..... "Welcome" & I hope you post regularly.

I love buying from your store and you are the 1st place that I check to find a price on a rifle, pistol or optics. You have treated me very fairly and relayed your policies precisely and quickly. I will make many more purchases from you in the future, I'm sure.

Luckily, I don't live in one of the states that prohibit high-cap mags, bayonet holders, 12" knives or Purple & Gold beanies.

I too am in a "no ship" area of NY - out on Long Island. I got a quote from you on a new Beretta 40 S&W had the $$ ready to go and found out about the no ship to Suffolk County clause you follow. While I do understand that it is YOUR business and you can run it the best way you see fit, it still bothers me to think that I have to pay close to 25% (YES 25%) more than your quote at a gun shop here for the same damn handgun. Especially after the 11 month process of getting a pistol permit here. Yet another cost of living in NY I guess......

Last time I checked my money, it still said "United States of America."

That means you're pretty much free to live anywhere--as in any state--you wish. If certain Constitutional Rights are that important to you and the state you're presently residing in restricts them, then move.

Anyone who says it's impossible is wrong.

I've turned down job offers in California, Illinois and New York (Massachusetts isn't even a state as for as I'm concerned) because I refuse to live under their politics. We moved from a state in which my wife and I were making very good money because we disagreed with their tax structure and newly passed limits on handgun purchases.

I called my headhunters, told them to get me the hell out of there, and less than four weeks later, I accepted a better job with a better salary and better clients in the middle of the country. This place was far more gun-friendly and had a political climate more to our liking.

If I'm a gun business, I would refuse to ship to the states in question as well. I salute Barrett for the very vocal stance, as an example.

You make the choice to live where you live. I make the choice to decide where I'll do business.

That's America.

Jeff

I see they don't ship ammo to Illinois either.

I suspect some of the problem is that cook county and Chicago forbid mail order ammo purchases while state law specifically allows it.

people are entitled to run their businesses in the way that suits them, even if it inconveniences some of their potential customers.

+1 Me too.

Welcome. I have purchased several guns from your outfit, and would again. I was particularly glad to see that Bud's was ready to deal with the latest nonsense form Calif., i.e., requiring out-of-state vendors to register with the state before they could ship firearms here. Good for you for helping to get guns into the hands of law-abiding Golden Staters!

Wow....you scared me there for a minute stevelyn!! We are the only Beretta "Trident Dealer" in our area....and we sell a TON of Tikka....so you really had me going there for a minute ! I have pasted a link below to 53 different models of Tikka Rilfes we currently have on our website.

Sorry about that. I was only looking in the 'Left-handed" section of the website and didn't see any listed. I'll be taking a lefty in .30-06 off your hands here soon.

One of my buds just ordered a .17 HMR from ya and he said was pretty painless. ;)

Hey guys !! Sorry for the delayed absence....still playing catch up following a much needed family vacation. I have talked to Bud about the MD issues. Unfortunately, it is not as simple as yes or no. He still has concerns, and I am dong the necessary research to see if we can eliminate those concerns.

It would not be unprecedented.....all of NY state was on our "do not sell list" as recently as 2007. However, a single respective email from an upper NY state customer got the wheels rolling....and now we ship to all but NY city and surrounding counties.

I appreciate your patience, and your input.....it really helps me work through this sensitive issue.

Good to be back !!!!

Rex - Welcome back! Hope the vacation was a good one.

We appreciate your patience as well, and your willingness to go to bat with Bud on our behalf. Please make sure to keep us up to date with the happenings, and don't hesitate to let us know if there's any way we can help.

Hello Rex. I just finished my second purchase about a week ago from you guys and i will definitely be buying from you guys again.

Here in California as things are becoming even worse i would like to thank you for what you are doing, and your continued friendship with us Californians :)

Thank you again...

One question

Where does California rank in sales? I read in the earlier posts that Florida was 3rd if i remember correctly... Where do we stand at? thanks... Just Curious

-Curiosity

**Oh and please do Sell "SAIGA" imported by RAA, Those are hot in California and everywhere else and are hard to find since everyone is buying them up.

You make the choice to live where you live. I make the choice to decide where I'll do business.

Hear! Hear!

People pretty much end up living where they choose to...

There must be some advantages to living in MD, MA, NY, IL or CA to offset the overbearing gun regulations they have.

I support Budsgunsop. They have every interest in serving as many U.S. gun buyers as possible. This means that they will be inclined to make the right decisions on where and how to do business. Capitalism does that.

Hey Curious ! California, Florida and Texas pretty much own the top three spots by a large margin. California customers are also very pleasant to work with...I guess the weather out there keeps you guys/gals pretty laid back ?!?!

You're right, there is. My family, my friends, my school, my life is here. Sometimes as much as a place might not fit my ideal as far as the place I want to live, there are things that keep me from running away.

Crazy concept, huh?

Anyway - whether or not those of us living in less-than-RKBA-friendly states are able/willing to move isn't the point of this thread - if you'd like to start one to discuss it I'd be glad to join you there - but if we could keep on the subject here, that'd be appreciated.

Welcome Buds! I want to say this will be off the topic but I have purchased over 12 weapons from buds in the last 2 years ,they are awesome, I'm happy I live in Tampa Florida . I moved from NY in 1986 ,miss the food and scenery ,just not the gun laws. Thanks again Buds. John N.

That's amazing.....thank you John !! I will pass your message along to our crew, they will really appreciate the kind words. I definitely appreciate your business. Rex

Hey Curiosity ! Thanks for the heads up on SAIGA. We actually have these in stock but did not have them posted on the website(posted yesterday). Also, we did not even realize they were CA legal, but after doing some research yesterday.....looks like they are good to go according to CA DOJ guidelines. Thanks again for making me aware of this. Rex

Bud's ships to Maine and I'm glad they do! On Monday I rec'd the Beretta Mini Cougar 8000D that I ordered exactly one week earlier from their used handgun inventory. This is the second gun I've purchased from them and the shipping process was much quicker this time.:D The gun was described as very good on the website and I called the store to make sure it was still there before ordering and was told on the phone that it looked very nice. Well, let me say that these descriptions were conservative. On inspection the gun looked brand new, as if it had only ever been test fired with no wear to speak of. Even the mags looked like they'd hardly been used. I've only had the opportunity to put around 60rds through it but it functioned perfectly with both WWB ball and +p hollow points and is quite accurate.

Honestly, I was hesitant to order a used gun based on a single photo on the web site but @ $354 shipped (+3% for using a credit card) was too good a deal to pass up and I'm very glad I chose to buy it. The other gun I purchased from them was a new Kahr CW9 and I'm equally satisfied with that one. I highly recommend Bud's to anyone not leaving in an overly oppressive state that is looking for great gun deals.

Yes, the Saiga is CA legal (I just picked mine up), so please do start carrying them. Also, Bud's is to be commended for not caving to the morons in Sacramento who continue to pass asinine laws to restrict gun ownership in the Golden State; their (Bud's) agreement to comply with the July 1 registration requirement is a boon to law-abiding Californians who want to buy guns. Kudos!!

Well.....the Saiga did not last long. We put them on yesterday and sold out today !! No problem, we will order more Saiga now that we know there is such a demand for them. I think if I keep listening to all you guys I can learn a lot !!

Hey Kingpin008 (and all MD residents).......

Just wanted you to know I have not lost sight off the original issue. I know some of these comments, and my replies, are off topic....but I can't help but respond to positive comments.

Rex - thanks for the update. I don't think any of us mind you replying to other customers, we just want to make sure we're being heard too!

Please do keep us in the loop. What (if anything) did Bud have to say about the situation when you last talked to him? Did he seem receptive, or? Because as stated earlier, we'd be more than happy to help him (and you) out with any information he may need to better inform himself on the state of things here in MD.
