I am married, and I carry at home.

My wife, who is also married, carries at home although not as religiously.

It will be interesting to see if she carries in front of her parents when they come from Japan for a visit later this week. Her family there knows that she is licensed to carry and, although perhaps a bit surprised, did not voice objection.

Glenn, I think the SO choice means you are living with someone and single is living alone and not currently dating anyone.
So what does that have to do with showing whether or not I carry at home? Nothing from what I can tell, yet that is one of the poll questions. I just do not get it.

All the best, Gb

I am single now, but up until February before I moved out from my former girlfriend, I carried most of the time. Typically just a Keltec in my pocket. But enough to thwart off an invasion hopefully long enough to grab either the shotgun or AR.

So I am single and carry home still.

If I were single I wouldn't carry as much as I do. I'm not as concerned with protecting myself as I am with protecting my family

True for a lot of people I bet. When I go out I almost always bring a gun, but if someone I care about is with me (3 yo nephew, some friends that are girls, etc.) I ALWAYS have at least one gun.

I carry more than 70 hours a week, I carry at home and am married with 2 kids at home, one 10 months old.

My wife expects me to be carrying and likes it, she also has her CWL but doesn't routinely carry yet. We are partners and both adults, my wife doesn't "let" or not "let" me do something.

Married, and packing at home.
If she clamped my passions, I would be single
And yea, she always asks if I have my gun on me when we go out.

Carry at home? It's the only place you can carry in NJ
All suggestions and any help is welcome to fix things here in the PRNJ!

Sorry Joe...I just left that mob infested state and moved myself (and my family...married w/ 3 kids) to Texas! and yes I do carry at home. Still need to get that CHL so I can carry it outside as well.

I carry at home, I've been married for (counts on fingers) 4 years, and I've got a son who'll be 2 in October.

My wife once told me: "No more guns until you kill something." :(
Recently, I shot a sick rat back of the house with a .22.
She came in and said: "You realize what this means? You can buy more guns!"
God, bless her!
There are absolutely NO issues with me carrying at my house! :D

As a husband and a daddy, I feel that I have even MORE to protect.

Carrying a gun has nothing to do about the passions / aggressive tendencies of youth. It is about exercising a civil right and ensuring the safety of your family - no different than taking out life insurance or making certain the kids are buckled up before driving down the road. I actually didn't start carrying around the house until I was married and with kids.

I'm married with 3 kids and don't carry at home...but I do need to get a front door gun, I'm thinking a shotgun above the door. Every time something goes bump and my wife and I are up late watching a movie I think, "crap, if something happens I have to run all the way to my nightstand to get my .45"

Married, female, carry at home.

My husband does not carry. To humor me, he tried for awhile, but eventually quit.

I don't always carry at home but you can be darn sure there's alway one within a few feet of either me or the wife.
In my experience, guys become a little MORE serious about self protection when they are married or have a SO in the home. You can sometimes ignore your own safety but you can NEVER ignore a loved ones.
