How long have you been carrying? What was your first carry gun? What is your current carry gun?

I have been carrying for 20 years. I started out with a 3" Charter Arms .38 and my current carry gun is a 3" Taurus .38. I have had several different carry guns in between.

I've been carrying a year and a few weeks. I carry a pre-agreement Smith & Wesson model 60 .357 magnum revolver, and can't imagine retiring it unless I could find a similar-sized revolver with six chambers. Once in a great while, I carry a Walther P.P.K. in .380 A.C.P., but it's not enough caliber. I occasionally carry my model 1911, but it's too bulky to carry comfortably, and anyway, I've always preferred the .357 magnum cartridge.

If anyone ever comes up with a P.P.K.-sized gun that packs a magnum punch...!

Been carrying 9 years. First carry gun was a Sig 229 in 40sw. Next was a Taurus 605 in 357 mag, Then a Star Ultrastar in 9mm. Then a Glock 27 Then a Sig 239 in 9mm, Then a Sig 239 in 357 sig. Then a Glock 31. Then a Glock 33. Then a Kimber 1911 full size. I also carry a 442 smith from time to time. I have owned and carried lots of other guns on a more limited basis. Duty gun issued is a Glock 21 but I only carry than when I am in uniform or on raids.

I've been carrying about nine months. I've only carried a Beretta 92FS, but am looking toward a compact 1911 in .45ACP.

I got my CCW 3 years ago and have carried every day since. My first carry gun was an H&K P7M8. If I had known then what I know now...I would have picked exactly the same one. :D I'm still carrying it.

Carrying for 15 years or so

I currently carry a Glock 23 w/ night sights. I use a SW 649 for a backup. I started with a Glock 17, Then a 1911, to a Beretta 92F to the Glock 23.

Been carrying 11/2 years. 1st and current carry weapon is my SP101 3†.357. The only time I don’t carry is at work since firearms are not allowed on work property. Sometimes I carry my Taurus 94 .22lr snub., usually when I’m out and about on my property. If I leave my place I switch to the SP.

Been carrying since 1997

First carry gun was a S&W M36

Current carry gun is a LW Commander. Been carrying it full time since 1999.

Saving up for a Makarov, PA-63 or a Bersa Thunder for special occasions.

Sig P232
Glock 19.

I've been carrying about a year officially for one year. Usually a Keltc P32. If I'm going to the woods, I usually have a Taurus M85UL.

When I lived in Chicago and if I had to go out late, e.g. sick wife. I'd carry a Glock 17. Those late night walks to the Whiite Hen were always interesting.

I also have a Kimber Compact that I have carried when I can wear long untucked shirts.

I've been carrying close to 30 years now. Started out with a Colt Combat Commander, carried a Government Model, a HK P7M13 and a Glock 17 for a little while in between, and went back to the Commander's. Now its a Commander and a P230.

I've been carrying for over 34 years.

My first carry piece was a .23 Mauser HsC (sweet little gun if ever there was one).

Have carried Colt Gov't Model, Walther P-38, S&W M-10 (Gov't gun), S&W M-60, S&W M-19, and Detonics .45.

Now carry either my Kel-Tec P-32 or my Taurus PT-145 Millennium Pro.

Been carrying 'bout 15 years

First CCW piece was a Star PD .45.

Currently I carry either a Customized Nork or a Springfield Champion. Both travel in a Milt Sparks SS2.

Between then and now I have at different times Carried a Glock 19, a S&W 686 and a H&K USP Compact. All were great guns, but I always seem to come back to a 1911.

Carrying for about 25 years.

Started with a S & @ Model 19 in 38 special. Now carry a SIG 220 ST. Several others over time e.g. Glock 26, S & W 686+ with a 2.5' bbl. All were (are) good weapons to carry. Good shooting;)

Ever since I was a kid, High Standard Sentinel.(toted everywhere).
J or K frame snubby Jr. High days ( whatever Uncle would let me borrow/keep). In HS moved to 1911 style, bought my first, personal owned centerfire in '73, an all steel Combat Commander after graduation that year.

Many years ago pc of permission paper obtained, have mulitple pcs of permisson paper now.

Always worked, hitched-hiked alot to get around in younger days. Just brought up not dressed without a knife...and other stuff.;)

Near 2 years now ........ first piece for the purpose was an M85 Taurus snub in 38 spl ..... served me well tho slight ''sweat degredation'' .. :( That now replaced in the snub categoy with a SP101. Still feel comfortable with a snub on board but for depth of winter carry most likely now to be P97 ... but even P95 will still get a look sometimes!

Next summer will very likely be finding good ways to carry bersa Thunder and/or .. if it has arrived .... my parkerized P-3AT.

My first carry gun was a Colt Junior .25ACP in 1954 when I was 15 years old. Back then buying a gun was quite a bit looser than now, even in a large midwestern city.

I had one "encounter" with it. Walking through a park at night coming home from my girlfriends (I couldn't get a car, but I could get a gun), I was accosted by a gang about my age with knives & can-openers in their hands. Having my hand in my back pocket on that Colt must have made me seem less of a victim to them, even though I didn't pull it. I talked my way through them.

I've had about 20 different pistols since then, and carried off & on - legally & illegally since then. Have never had to shoot; but I've trained both physically and mentally to be able to protect myself.

First carry gun was a nickeled S&W model 37 Airweight J frame then KelTec P11 9mm and now I switch between a NAA Guardian .32 and S&W 640 .357 Centennial.

I’ve been carrying everyday for the last 8 years. My initial carry gun was a Smith & Wesson 669 9mm... a good gun with a healthy payload of ammo but not nearly as effective or shootable as other guns I’ve owned. I packed the 669 in a Galco IWB until I began to carry a 1911.

Currently you'll find me with either a Les Baer TR Special or a 5†stainless BCP Colt in either a Sparks Summer Special or an Alessi GWH with either being backed up by an S&W 442 in an Alessi ankle holster.
