MA....sigh
Good morning all. I was at a gun show yesterday and a friend of mine who is a dealer had a Sig P228 that he took in on trade at a show 2 weeks earlier. It had 3 magazines (two ten rounders and a preban hi-cap) it had also had a trigger job. He told me I could have it for 500. I came looking for a smith 442 and I found one for 350 as well as a high point 9mm carbine for 150. I decided to get the snub and the carbine instead. Do you all think I did alright? He said the sig will always be there if I change my mind. Of he didn't sell it he was going to hang onto it for a bit to shoot.

Well....If your happy...you did alright.

My personal opinion should not have any bearing on your satisfaction regarding your purchases. Further I can't see what you bought so one has to assume that your new acquisitions are in fine shape and worth what you paid for them.

Now...would I have made the same decision as you did? No. I would have bought the Sig ...leaving the S&W and the High Point behind.

Cheers
Mac.

If you're more interested in a plinking 9mm carbine and a small-frame .38, you did well.

Personally, I would always buy a higher-quality gun that I can swell easily when I tire of it.

If you're asking for opinions on how well you did in your "dealings" then you're either bragging or didn't do your homework. If you did your homework you;d KNOW if you got a good deal.

Sorry........ newbes usually ask that same sort of question.

Kind of hard to say because your comparing an apple to an orange and a grapefruit. You said you were looking for a S&W 442, found one at a decent price, and bought it. I'm guessing the same thing happened with the Hi-Point carbine too. So you got two guns you wanted for the price of one that you might possibly be able to get, sometime in the near future. So yes, you did great. Enjoy.

I think I did well (haven't got to the range with the new purchases just yet) I spoke with my buddy who was selling the sig and he still has it so that will be the next purchase. I was jusy curious because although I Knew the going rate for all the firearms. Sometimes things are considered a better deal if they are harder to find.
