while watching pinocchio (i hadn't seen it for at least 30 years) with my daughter, it came to my attention that even kid cartoons from fifty years ago promoted the right to bear arms.
near the begining of the movie where pinocchio comes to life, he scares geppetto in the middle of the night. what does geppetto do? he reaches under his pillow and pulls out a pistol!!!
my question to you is how could we (americans) screw up so badly in the last fifty years that we have caused ourselves to question if it is our right to protect ourselves by bearing firearms? at that time it was common enough to be in a disney flick. i don't see disney having the guts to try that now, but why not?
please don't make this a liberal or special interest group bashing party, i am interested in the actual progression of events (kennedy, ml king assasinations?) that may have changed the political attitude.
