Fantasy time: What do you wish for?

Agreed but with all the new alloys available today I don't see why not. The Freedom Arms revolvers are not extra large but hold up very well. Yes I know a SA revolver has an advantage but this is a "wish" thread...
Indeed it is, and good point about the alloys.

I want a rimless .357 magnum.

Cut down a piece of .223 brass to the overall .357mag length, run it through a sizer to get the correct inside diameter, and there you go. Then chamber an AR barrel to fit it, and face the back of the cylinder of a nice stout, preferably N frame, revolver so that I can use the rimless round in it while still being able to use the conventional round.

I would then have a great pistol/carbine combination in a cartridge that really shows some improvement in a carbine length barrel while still being useful in shorter pistol barrels.

I already have a lever-action in .357 and the revolvers to accompany it. Now I want one in an auto action. Maybe even an auto action pistol while I'm at it.

Isn't that basically the old 9mm Winchester Magnum?

Basically, but the 9mm magnum is long gone. I was around in the seventies as a teen, but never heard of the round until a few years ago. Still have never seen a gun of any type chambered for one.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9mm_Winchester_Magnum

With the interest in pistol caliber carbines I think perhaps one would fly now.

They might need to use the 97 frame, but I agree. Would be nice to see them put out something to compete with Tanfoglio's 10mm offerings.

Your wish has sort of been granted - there is exactly ONE CZ-97 in 10mm, built as an experiment. It's in Kansas City, IIRC. It worked well, but acording to those who know, it was a HUGE pain to build, and the demand wasn't really there to justify tooling up for one. Now that the CZ factory is open and running here in the US, maybe something might happen...
Speaking of wish handguns...
CZ Scorpion EVO S1 in 10mm and/or 7.62 Tokarev.
A new updated version of the old Enforcer 30 Carbine pistol, maybe in something odd like .32 HR Magnum, or a new .32 Magnum Rimless, just for grins and giggles
CZ P-09/07 in 38 Super.
44 AMP Automag reworked with a better grip for us normal hand sized people, and good factory ammo.
Gotta quit dreaming, might come up with something weird...

I think a 16" 10mm EVO carbine would be a good partner to my 9mm EVO pistol.

I'd like to see a 7 or 8 shot 357Max S&W X frame with a 10-12" barrel. That'd be a good long range deer pistol without the recoil of the 45 to 50 cals. The frame should certainly be big enough to load the 180-220gr bullets unlike the Blackhawks. Should also be more room between the cylinder gap and the bottom of the top strap to help mitigate flame cutting. Or add a replaceable hardened steel insert if it's a problem during development.

I'd like to see a new Super Redhawk that doesn't look as goofy. They're great guns, but that barrel just doesn't look right to me. Just make one that looks like a beefed up GP100 either half or full lug, and I'll take a 5" 454.

Yes sir and I think you posted a picture of it awhile ago in another thread. I think it's a great idea for the CZ 97 and I'd be very interested if they were ever brought to market.

10mm really is a wonderfully versatile cartridge isn't it? I'm glad it's got a little more of a following these days.

This sort of ties in with the 'I wish they made' thread, but a Ruger 77 in 9mm for us poor benighted souls that live in states like NY and CA.

I'm not a fan of how they look either but it's a great design if you want to scope a revolver.

I like your idea though about the beefed up GP.

I'd revert to the 19th Century and wish for a Merwin & Holbert, the single action strap pistol with the round butt, parrot beak grip frame. In 44 WCF of course. And since I'm wishing, I'd want one of the special orders that came with both a 3-1/2" barrel and a separate 7-1/2" barrel assembly, both fitted to the same frame.

That would put a smile on my face.

Dave

I think we did this a few years ago, but trends, interests, and forum members change. So let's just have fun.

What handguns do you wish was made that doesn't exist and has never been produced? Let's try to keep it to reasonably possible guns, not absurd could never happen guns.

For revolvers, I want a stainless half lug GP100 chambered in 41 magnum, with a 5 inch barrel.

For autoloaders I want a Sig Saur P227 Legion in all steel, chambered for 10mm. Standard barrel length, or a 5 inches. Fixed night sights.

I want that SIG, but in SAO

A lightweight top break double action cut for moon clips in 38 special with a 3 inch barrel

An L frame 45 Colt

A 357 Sig barrel for my PX4 Storm

A 357B&D with swappable cylinder to 357 mag Sold as available options, cylinders in 9x27, 38 super, 9x19, .380acp, 357 sig. I like S&W type guns, but with the swap cylinder thing I think single action is much more appropriate, so just jump straight to the best of the best and have it made by Freedom Arms.

Bolt action, swap-barrel benchrest pistol with swap system similar to Ruger takedown guns.

Full sized gun in .25acp, 32acp, and their NAA counterparts.

More options for 22TCM.

I was just going to say a top break revolver about the size of a sp101 or j frame smith with 22lr and 22 mag cylinders, 6” barrel, target sights, and cut for scope rings.

Another one in the same size in 38.

I would like to see .32naa barrels for many of the popular .380 pistols. Of course, that also calls for some reloading dies for that caliber.

I would also like to see the PK380 released with a double stack magazine. Anyone who has spent any time with that pistol has noticed that the pistol looks like it was designed for a double stack magazine, the grip has huge spacers in it to make the single stack magazine work.

I would also like to see an open-top revolver with a transfer bar, or another mechanism, safety system to allow the revolver to be safely carried when fully loaded.

I would like to see grip safeties incorporated in the Colt 380 Government Model-based family of pistols.

A polymer (preferable XD but Glock is acceptable) 10mm with thumb safety and 6” barrel.

The same gun in a new cartridge like a rimless 44 Mag. Could even be a single stack.
