Grab a Gun and run- what are you taking?

We do live in a civilized soceity and walking around with a full sized assult rifle and 20 mags of ammo just might not be the smartest thing to do.

Not all of us live in town My home defense weapon is an 870 and my read on the question is that if you only have time to grab one gun, you don't have time to open the safe. I grabbed what was readily available.

I can't envision a scenario in which I could only grab one gun. I have a case with four handguns (3 1911s and a Taurus PT99AF) ready in my safe so those would all come as would my carry 1911 and P32. I also keep my Winchester Coyote 243 and my 870 in soft cases ready to go. That's 8 guns ready in literally 30 seconds.

And I keep 5 loaded 1911 mags in my trunk.

I guess if I had to grab one for some convoluted reason (or just for thread discussion), it would be my carry 1911.

Really depends on what room I get flushed out of. If something like a disaster/riot/invasion is bad enough to get me out of home, I'd probably pick my M4gery & as many mags & stripperclips I can grab from outta the safe.

If jumping outta the bedroom window at night because Ninja home invaders just kicked down my door, I'd grab the shotgun.

Certainly no need to take my word for it. There is video and print media coverage of black activists doing exactly that, in downtown Houston, while Houston cops and citizens stand by and watch.

There simply is no law against it.
