Thanks. He did indeed. It sat unfired in his safe for the seven years he had it.

Today the nearest is my regular carry, the SIG P228. I got this one in a trade four days after I sold the 686, and it has been in a holster on my hip pretty regularly over the past seven years.

I don't know why, I just felt like carrying the 686 earlier this week.

Easy enough. I put my hand to my right hip and I grab onto this:

CZ P07 loaded with Gold Dots in a Crossbreed Supertuck. If I need more than that and a spare mag, there's a CZ82 and a spare mag in the hall closet. If I need more than that, there's a Mossberg 500 upstairs loaded with buck and slugs. If I need more than that, I'll use my iPhone to call in an airstrike :D

Normally The Abomination would be closest, but its away at the shop for repair. For now the closest is the Marlin 336.
 
@purgatory Abomination is a mythical Saiga shotgun from the Monster Hunter novels by Larry Correia if I remember correctly its a short barreled 12 gauge Saiga with a huge bayonet and maybe some sort of grenade launcher on it. I could dig out the book but suffice it to say its full of awesome and win.
 
Marlin 795 (22lr semi auto rifle) Leaning on the wall next to my chair. It has been my trunk/truck/beater rifle for the last couple months and I brought it in the house to fondle it some more.

Oh, and there is 5 loaded mags, 50 extra rounds plus some other stuff stored in the hollow buttstock.

Accidentally forced the slide back as a result of a 3ft drop. completely compromised the engaged safety and broke the portion of the grip is was notched into. Not sure of any further internal damage, so I talked to Hi-Point and they said send it on in. I'm pretty sure it will still be an abomination after I get it back :)

Normally it would be the closest firearm in my possession. Unless you count the lysol spray bottle.

Mac, that looks like a great go-to dinner-getter if you're stranded in the boonies with your vehicle somewhere.

for now

my stag model 3 ar 15 is my only weapon atm. Soon to have a springfield 45 then a 308 auto when i find out what is the better choice in the 308.
 
Dammit...an empty Raven MP25. I'd much rather have my Armscor .38 special but if I'm going strictly by what is in arm's reach it is the empty Raven.
 
Ruger GP100 loaded and holstered on the coffee table just ahead of the laptop I am currently using.
