EDC in my pocket right now is a Ruger LCP in a Nemesis pocket holster. But also in easy reach (where I'm now sitting) is a Glock 23 with a mounted Streamlight M3.

My nearest gun, AKA in the holster, is the Springfield XD40. Its my issued firearm for my job as court security. I love the gun. Its proved to be very accurate and reliable. Back when I was married, my now ex-wife liked it so much we bought her an XD-9. This is a great gun for anyone.

At the moment, I am lying in bed. Within two feet of the end of my bed is a Marlin 30-30, a .270, and a Mosin Nagant. Lying within arms reach on the floor is a Glock 27, holstered in the pants I was wearing yesterday. And in the nightstand is a S&W 642.

This Seecamp LSW 32 in my waistband right now is my closest gun.

I first saw my father in law with the .380 version and thats what first spurred me to even get a CHL was the thought that there was actually a gun small enough for me to want to carry all day every day all the time. I couldn't afford the .380 so I had to settle for now with the .32. Now that I'm comfortable carrying this I may one time upgrade to a larger caliber. but overall I'm comfortable carrying something as opposed to nothing, its all about those tradeoffs.

Well since I am at work at the pro shop right now the fullsize is a no go lol

BUT I have my kahr p380 right here. Sometimes ruger lcr, but it is a bit tougher to keep handy here.

gotta say the little kahr surprised the heck out of me. i can shoot it very accurately; I think the trigger helps a lot. It is almost like shooting a double action revolver with a light pull and roll over, ie almost like a 2 stage. Pleasure to shoot for sure, especially compared to the other small guns I have tried. Quite reliable if I keep on top of recoil spring changes.

In a holster on my hip is my S&W 686-4 with Ahrends cocobolo retro banana grips:

Here's the story. I bought this from a local shop on May 1, 2004. I sold it to a friend of my father-in-law three months later to cover some unexpected medical expenses. He told me at the time I could have it back for the same price, whenever I wanted it.

Fast forward to this spring, and my father-in-law's friend is selling off what is left of his extensive collection after giving most of it to his son and grandson. He knew he was dying of cancer and didn't want his wife to have all these guns to deal with. I got it back from him on May 1, seven years to the day of my original purchase, and he went on to his reward less than two months later.

Let's see, the closest is a Taurus mod. 66 7 shot .357 mag. with 125 grn. hollow points.

Next closest is my S & W 66 w/ 165 grn. hp., I think.

It was four feet away,

Doug A, that's a nice piece. Looks like the hands it was passed through took good care of it.

DM, that's not a sight I 'ever' want to see in person.

In my 'puter desk drawer there's a Taurus Mod 96 .22LR 6-shot target revolver that I use on yard pests like 'coons and possums...

My Ruger Single-Six .32 H&R Magnum with 6.5" barrel. It's my woods and plinking gun.

Polish P-64. When I bought it the ejector (which is also the slide lock) would hit the slide after firing 4 rounds. New ejector, new slide, and it runs like a top. It's now my CCW of choice most days.

The laptop's on the nightstand as I type this. Right behind that nightstand, against the wall is my Mossberg 500, loaded with Federal Flite Control 00 buck, and Brenneke Black Magic slugs on the shell holders.

Fitted with a Surefire light, and an Eotech holosight just because frankly I didn't have a better gun to put the Eotech on.

So... I have a sight on a shotgun that costs more than the shotgun. Insert a Jeff Foxworthy thing here. :D

Closest to my right hand is a Beretta 84FS Cheetah in a holster on my hip. Closest to my left hand is a Walther PK380 on my desk. Both loaded with Remington 102gr. Golden Sabers. .380 may be small, but I've got 24 of them (14 Cheetah, 10 PK380) so, at the very least, I can annoy the heck out of a BG.

However, if I grab them, I can't type, so I can't tell you that.

The Polish P-64 in 9x18 Makarov that's on my hip. The Rock Island Armory 1911 in .45 ACP is also within reach. As is the Romanian Tokarev. There's a Saiga 12 behind me. And no, I'm not joking.

Its a little pink Cricket, purchased for my four year old daughter so that she has a rifle of her own when I decide she's ready. It was an impulse buy and I cleaned up the trigger the night I brought it home. The woman working the counter called the owner to ask if it was alright if she gave me the stuffed Cricket to go with it, and I found the conversation funny.

"Hey, Zach's here, he's buying the pink Cricket for his daughter, I wa-"
"Find that stuffed cricket and give that to him too!"

Its currently still in the box, propped up in my closet, opposite of the defense guns that don't sleep in the safe. I did go ahead and giver her the stuffed animal, which she loved.

Stainless custom Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag., loaded with 240 gr. .44 Specials, strapped on for a date with a coyote in the neighbors chickenyard. Scoped .44 Mag. Redhawk in the cabinet "at hand" loaded for deer. Stainless Old Army needing a sight repair (insert fell out) and a Classicballistix cylinder to be loaded with 40 gr. 777 under a 220 gr. lead slug.
