Hmm, let's see, that would be my '09 vintage Marlin Model 39A .22 caliber lever action, leaning against the headboard of my bed, no less than a foot away from me.
I got it about a month ago, and in that time, have put a couple hundred rounds through it, it was used, but in 99% of new condition, I don't even think it had been fired, the lever started off a little gritty, but after a good deep cleaning of the factory oil, a thin film of RIG Universal gun grease on the inside and outside, and running the action a couple quadrillion times, the action is now buttery smooth
In my short month of ownership of the 39, it has supplanted all my other .22's as my new favorite, it even dethroned my YoDave trigger equipped CZ-452 Trainer, there's something about shouldering the 39 that just feels *right*
The only reason the 39 is next to the bed is because it's my latest shiny new toy and the newness hasn't worn off it yet, I still grab it and run the lever a few times just for the heck of it (unloaded, naturally) and I am too lazy to put it in my gun rack at the moment....
If I reach a little further, I can grab my Remington 870 Express Supermag leaning against the nightstand, my "bump in the night" gun with yellowish blonde wood, and a short 18.5" Cylinder bore barrel, ammo cuff on the buttstock and Remington Supercell recoil pad, it has four #4 Buck shells in the tube, hammer down on an empty chamber, so all I need to do is rack the slide to go hot, buttcuff contains 4 00 Buck shells and one Brenneke Tactical Home Defense reduced recoil slug
