I don't like the blonde wood either but it is a well made quality pistol.I really like the G&G guns. Yours is correct in .36 but I don't like the High Standard blond wood. Other than the added HS logo, they are correct. IIRC, since they were assembled in the US from parts, and they do not have the Italian proofs and date of manufacture code.
Since steel was scarce in the Confederacy, G&G produced ~3600+ guns in .36 with brass frames. The originals had cylinders made of heated twisted iron, and the originals will show the twist lines.
